If Woodward paid O's full buyout over Tate's objections why do you think Tate has so much

How do you know Tate didn’t want to pay the whole buyout? Everything goes both ways until we know the whole story.

No one here knows what Scott did with or without Tate’s preferences. No one here knows what Tate has said.

I BELIEVE Woodward has enough clout to do his job his way or resign and go elsewhere. So, I have no reason to think Tate has tried to interfere and I don’t think Scott would allow interference.

If y’all think the boosters and BOS will let Tate alone pick the coach then you will believe the next coach is only getting paid $500,000 from the school. Doesn’t work that way.

Yeah Tate doesn’t have the clout yet to really have a say in a football search.

He can offer suggestions and guidance and objections, but at the end of the day he ain’t in charge of football hires. Yet.

Because the Governor of Louisiana appoints his political allies to the BOS, and those are the guys that hired Tate per JBE's order. The governor and the LA Democrats have a lot of influence over LSU right now, and they are more interested in making a good political hire than what's best for LSU's football program.

That is your fear. You have zero evidence to back that up.

Yet? Man, Tate won't be at LSU no more than 4 years tops. University Presidents don't typically stay in one spot no more than 5 years max. University Presidents move around like college football coaches. Seriously.

Well if JBE want a legacy and wants to run for US Seante, he will alllow Woodward find the coach and TAF cut the checks.

Yeah I don’t know exactly when that is in the future that he would have that kind of power and influence, but it certainly isn’t yet.

And if you’re right about the buyout objection here, then that’s case-in-point

The PTB aren’t letting a brand new OOS President run the show here on a football hire.

Mascona talked about it,
“Tate involved himself in the termination process regarding the buyout.”
No one asked him to. Looks like Scott told him to stay in his corner.

Nope, nope, nope! I am assured by many posters here that LSU will only make “woke” hires.

JBE appointed Zuschlag and Collis Temple to the BOS. Both helped JBE win election, and Zuschlag funded the JBE campaign. Zuschlag also received the an award from John Breaux after helping Breaux win election. None of these guys care about football; they are all big supporters of the LA Democrat party, though.

Can I also submit Tate's hiring as evidence? Tate is also a noted Democrat and self described social scientist. Tate does not get that position without political support.

TAF paid the buyout, not LSU or the State of Louisiana. Tate has NOTHING to do with TAF or their money , let alone how it is spent.

That sucks. Hard to put down roots. Was like that for me in the military, less than 3 yrs at each stop.
