For different reasons, of course. Simple question.

If they were to be flooded with emails by people saying they aren't renewing season tickets or investing in LSU football, I'm sure they would block it

Because O wants Ensminger

You hired O to make decisions for the program

Face it. Briles is a public relations nightmare. He, his father, the AD and the President of Baylor are all bad news for public relations.

The better question to be asking is if the powers that be blocked Briles why did they hire Alleva. His baggage is far more worse, any other university that happens at the pr image alone would’ve sank the entire Athletic dept.

O supposedly wanted Briles. They stopped that. They should stop Ensminger. If O insists, they remind him that he is a below-average figure head coach that got the job because he would (a) unite people, (b) recruit well and (c) hire the best coordinators money could buy.

If they let him hire Ensminger, O would have failed/lied about (a) and (c) and was only sort of maintaining (b).

I'd remind O that, while not sure on this point, doing something like that might be grounds for termination for cause. Now, O we're all reasonable here. Simply promoting from within is untenable, because, you know...precedent. Let's find a true, elite OC and make a strong pitch, ok? Thanks!

They could. I think Public pressure would cause them to do that.

He is no worse than Petrino, Sark, or Alleva as far as past mistakes are concerned.

eh that's debatable. Alleva's black eye was being overzealous with prosecuting innocent kids of alleged rape. Briles' black eye is allegedly being complicit in allowing rapes to happen.

But why?

He expect to be a lapdog and allow the dline coach dictate the offense?

Petrino cheated on his wife with an intern. Sark is an alcoholic. Alleva made innocent kids look guilty of a crimes. I don't think any of those even comes close to possibly being complicit in covering up multiple rapes on campus. Alleva sucks, but he is not the PR nightmare Briles could be.

I agree with this. Don't want Briles near LSU. Would like for Aleva to leave also.

You could say anyone at any level of the staff or admin at Baylor were "possibly" complicit. The three i named actually made the mistakes they were accused of and they all have jobs.

Petrino hired her over more qualified people.

Also, tried to cover up his mess involving a state police officer that was assigned to him.

And I, for one, do not want to hire Briles for all of these reasons. However, the precedent is there for the Powers that Be to block unacceptable hires.

Both Briles and Ensminger are unacceptable OC hires for different reasons.

Tell O no on Ensminger. Can him for cause if he won't give in. Litigate with him until he agrees to settle. Move Aranda to HC and see how much easier it will be to hire an elite OC.

I really don't see young Briles as a PR nightmare at all

AND yet one didn't do anything.. According to this logic, Alleva should be a PR nightmare really because he actually accused innocent people and fired a coach of false allegations.
