He's not going anywhere. Washington State will throw bank at him. He will be their legacy coach.

I hope not.

I'm still pissed about the Texas Tech situation.

Leach isn’t going anywhere. He’ll be 58 next year, is difficult to work with, and 8 games over .500 for his career.

Leach is an idiot. good offensive mind but would not translate as a top coach at a big boy school.

He's infamous for his quarrels with athletic departments, especially the A.D.s and BOS he's fought with over the years. And ranters mock CLM and Coach O for their "different"personas: ever seen Leach's pirate thing??

This is a big deal and I don’t understand why people will completely overlook it. I understand that the guy hasn’t ever had a strong job, but he’s also never been in an bad position as far as resources go and he’s had some serious offensive talent between guys like Graham Harrell and Michael Crabtree and still only won 10+ games twice in his career.

His hype reminds me of Taggart, he doesn’t seem to have the personality to be highly successful at a big time program and I’m sure he’s lacking in “program CEO” qualities that he makes up for by being an extremely good offensive mind. He’s a career 7-9 win coach and I doubt that a bigger job and the things associated with that would help him in the win column

If South Carolina fired Muschamp then he would be a good fit their . He would be much better then Muschamp. I don’t think a major program will take on his personality .

The problem with Leach is that he hates recruiting. You can’t win at a big time school without recruiting.

Whereas, at Washington State or Texas Tech, you can recruit some under the radar kids, avoid the big recruiting battles, or even have your assistants do the lion’s share of the recruiting for you. You can’t do that at big time programs.

He is 8 games over .500 at Wazzu not for his career.

Also, what kind of idiot would hold his first three years against him when he was building up Wazzu from the shite pile they were in when he got there?

What kind of an idiot would ignore the fact that he’s been 7-5, 8-4, 9-3, or worse, in 90% of his seasons as a head coach? I get that you’re an A&M fan so I’m sure you’d be absolutely ecstatic with those numbers but most real football programs could hire a better coach than Leach

He had those records at Texas Tech and Washington State. Those are not traditional powers in any way. The SEC equivalent would Kentucky. If a coach had that kind of record at UK people would say he was great.

So you’re comparing Texas Tech and Washington State to the absolute bottom of the barrel regarding resources and program prestige over the course of 30+ years in the SEC? Washington State was a very solid program from the late 80’s to early 2000’s and Texas Tech has been sitting at 7 to 9 wins yearly since it joined the big 12 with a slight dip in the Klingsbury era.

I get that you’re biased and completely delusional about this because “mUh EndoWmeNt”, but Washington State is way more comparable to A&M than Kentucky- a program that has a long history of mediocrity with a short run of moderate success in the 90’s. You’re grossly exaggerating how bad of a job it is to make Leach look better, nothing that he’s ever done would indicate that he’d come into the SEC and light it up at any school, much less one with limited resources like people on this board want to believe

I’m not even a big mike leach fan but seriously he was at Texas tech and then Washington State. Those schools at the very best are like Mississippi State in our conference, and I’m saying the highest you would compare them to. Actually Texas tech may be historically the worse team in he big 12 but both are on the lower half of their conference.
