If Riley is totally driven to win a national title

then no matter how happy he is, he'll be moving on from OU.
He's at the stage where he's very wealthy, and $$ aren't the most important thing.
Winning at the highest level is, however, and LSU gives him that opportunity, not the Sooners...

I don’t know what Riley is going to do, but I do know that things will get tougher for him if he stays at OU.
He will be forced to recruit the southeast much more heavily for elite defensive skill positions against elite coaches/schools that already have established relationships here.

Imagine being at OU, which has a great football pedigree, and you're into year 5 of your coaching tenure, and you look at LSU and see....
Saban - won a national title in 3 years.
Miles - won a national title in 3 years.
And then he sees that a shrimp boat coon-arse won a title in 2 years as head coach.
He has to be thinking to himself, "I could be the next Saban by moving to LSU if Ed Orgeron can win a title. I'll bring Williams and win a title in two years and with a Heisman QB."

I don't know what Riley is going to do. What I do feel confident about is the fact that Oklahoma will be on par with what A$M has been so far. Ceiling being 10 wins. Floor being 7. If he legitimately wants to win Championships and he has a 12.5 mill a year offer from LSU, he should take it.

If I'm the AD I go to Riley's agent and say:
"Look. We think your client is a great coach. We think he could do great things at LSU. We want him as our guy. We know he's had great success at OU (that's why we want him), but let's look at the facts, he can't beat SEC teams at OU. In his 4 seasons at OU he is 1-3 vs. SEC teams. And the one win was last year vs. a Florida team that openly admitted they didn't give a shite about the Sugar Bowl.
He's now about to enter the SEC with that OU program. So instead of playing one SEC team a year, against whom he hasn't had any success at OU, he's going to playing 8-9 games vs. SEC opponents. LSU has one of the most natural recruiting advantages in the entire country. So much so, that it has allowed TWO HC's who are FAR less savvy than Lincoln to win national titles. NOW is Lincoln's time to make the move because THIS job won't be open next season. His "stock" is only going to drop once OU enters the SEC because there are probably 6 teams in the SEC as good or better than the Baylor's of the world. He's going to be taking a 30x30 rifle into a fight against guys with bazookas. You know it. He knows it. I know it. So let's go ahead, make this deal, and make Lincoln and you very rich men with the best yet to come."

Well, Mel Tucker just reset the market, so it’s gonna take more than that

On September 25, 2016, after LSU head coach Les Miles was fired following a loss to Auburn, Orgeron was named the team's interim head coach
damn our own fans are clueless on years

So, if he's not coming, then my take is he's happy with being static, not wanting to reach for the stars. If that's the case he should stay at Okie...

riley can come here and win nattys or stay there and get his arse pounded by sec teams on the regular. up to him.

if so then we need to move on to our next best coach on our list. riley will not do better in the sec if he stays there compared to here.

Don’t personally know Lincoln Riley but if he is one if these psychopathic narcissists like most elite coaches and is driven just to win and dominate his opponents, there is one logical choice here.
