Will be the biggest 'steal' in CFB history?
I'm old and don't recall anything of this magnitude.
I recall Fairbanks left OU for Colorado in the early 70s but this would be even bigger.

Not gonna happen. It would be the greatest steal I can think of, but it ain’t happening. If it was a year from now and the Miles stuff was cleared up, maybe. Not now

Loose lips sink ships and coaching hires.
The more y'all bring it up; reporters ask him which in return he says no and gets mad and might pull away from deal.

Very true, money he can get close to the same. Recruiting he knows LSU has built in advantages but he also has a huge ego and feels once he’s in the sec, he can compete. You win a championship at LSU and you are fired two years later. Win one at OU you can stay forever. That’s not lost on him.

There's way more to it than that

This whole, "win a NC and fired two years later" is an absurd narrative. Ed O was severely detrimental to the program following the NC. It wasn't merely the wins and losses, but more the person he became and the direction we were headed. Les lasted 8 or so years after his NC. I'm just tired of that narrative, sorry.

It might be absurd but it’s reality. OU can pay with the new SEC money and if you win one here you are a legend forever. You win one at LSU you are good until you do something dumb. The recruiting advantage is real, but as we’ve seen recently, that doesn’t make you a Goat. That might change at OU once we’re in the SEC (win now or be fired). But it’s not our history. He can stay at OU and be safe for decades, LSU he is a paid soldier, win or get out. He’s not dumb. 12 million a year for three years doesn’t replace 9 million over 15 years. If OU wasn’t moving to the SEC, I think it would have better odds. Guys with big egos want to compete at the highest level (sec). Now OU is moving there, much more grace on the OU side than the LSU side.

It's clear you're here to push your narrative, and negate whatever doesn't fit said narrative. That's fine, but if you looked at this objectively, it's easy to see why Ed was fired for reasons much deeper than his on field product. I'd assume any program that holds themself to the highest degree as we at LSU, and you at OU do, would be quick to get rid of someone that showed the red flags Ed did. You've had back to back top tier coaches so of course they wouldn't be fired. Just ask yourself had OU been in the same position, would Ed O really still have a job there?
