If it's Herman, we might as well start making a hotlist now.

He's gonna bolt in 4-5 years. It's beyond foolish to believe he's going to be here longer than that. So who's waiting in the wings that could be viable options then?

Frank Wilson?
Justin Fuentes?
Charlie Strong?

I agree. If it is Herman, I certainly don't think he is here for the long haul.

5 years is a decent amount of time to have a coach. If he's bolting, it means it's to the NFL and we've won a title or two. That's fine.

You hire someone else just as good. The end.

OMG a coach we may potentially hire may have so much success that he leaves for a better gig. Let's put together a future list now.

No.

He's had one foot out of the door since he became the HC at Houston. Now he's more than likely bolting to a better job. Why is it unreasonable to start planning for the future? He has no attachments here and he's young. He's not planning to retire in BR. He will bolt as soon as the NFL comes calling.

They truly are.

I really don't know what is with the negativity of Louisians.

If we get Herman we will be blessed!!

He's been HC as UH for less than 2 years. It's a stepping stone job.

frick, once he won their first bowl game in 30 years, show me the opportunity.

Give me a potentially great coach for X years and if he's successful it's a win-win.

Orgeron after he wins the ACC a couple times with UNC.

You heard it hear first.

It doesn't mean anything, but you heard it.

Nah I'm not miserable. I'm just not blinded by our need for some semblance of an offense. What we need is someone who can get us to the top and keep us there. Alabama, Ohio State, and Michigan all have coaches who can do that. How can we expect that from a guy who has one eye on the NFL the entire time he's here?

See Saban's tenure here. He was constantly looking at the NFL. Look what that got us. But, yeah it would be nice to have someone in BR for more than 5 years.

How old are you?

Saban was eyeing the NFL from the time he signed the dotted line at LSU in 1999. LSU won 2 SEC titles and a NC in the next 5 years and left the cupboard full for Miles.

This was from a program that won 7 total games in 1998 and 1999. 1 of those games with an interim HC - Hal Hunter.

You're worrying about the cart when you need to worry about the horse. IMO.
