his background is with defensive backs and safeties! Not saying I want Raymond back but would this make it easier?

Knowing he can lead the recruiting and if his coaching starts lacking Minter is there to over see and correct things?

Baker has also coached safeties, FYI. Could let him and Corey handle safeties and DBs, then bring in someone else for LBs.

I still do not understand the Raymond love here.

I don't understand the Baker love. The guy was on Orgeron's last staff for heaven's sakes, and it's not like Missouri's defense is anything outstanding.

Baker was one many of us were disappointed about when he was let go.

I just want LSU to hire the best DC, because with this offense that would mean more titles and Heismans at LSU.

The 2023 Missouri Tigers, which just stymied normally high-powered Ohio State in a 14-3 win in the Cotton Bowl last weekend, ranked No. 25 nationally in scoring defense at just 20.85 points per game.

Midway through the 2023 season, Missouri hammered Tennessee, 36-7, in what has stood as the lowest-scoring game in the head coaching career of Vols skipper Josh Heupel; it's the only time a Heupel-led team has been held to single digits.

Why? There was nothing particularly memorable about the defense in 2021, except that it was better than 2020.

Ohio State had a third string QB and no Marvin Harrison.

Do we bring in Conor Stalions as well if it's Minter?

Coached under Kelly. Coached under Clark Lea (former Kelly DC). Known for good pass defenses. There are just too many signs and connections pointing to him as the guy.

He was the LB coach. We were one of only four schools that had multiple LBs in the PFF top 25 that year

It could be that Missouri’s defense was ranked 114th when he took over…..and he had them in the high 30’s the last 2 years with some outstanding performances in that time frame. He’s also a great recruiter with ties to the state of Louisiana

Guy is a great coach, but since this is TD, you should all be aware that Michigan’s zone rate was >75% this season. Given the outrage all season regarding the lack of man coverage played by LSU, I just wanted to put that out there.

Raymond was kicked to the curb for a reason. We don't want him back.

Agreed, go pay somebody that can do both. Blows my mind people can’t move the frick on from the past. Anybody that wants Raymond strives for mediocrity.

There are zones, and then there is LSU's semi prevent zone where no one knew who was guarding what....other than grass.
