How much would that screw up the Horns plan? Would Strong be back for another year? Not really sure which big names would be available for them at this point with Herman off the board

I guess they would keep strong just to look like they weren't the victim in this

I'd wager they'll keep Strong around for another year.

Strong comes back and wins 8 and they have to keep him. Honestly, I think Charlie can do okay there if they give him the chance. He took over a mess.

They give Strong back to Louisville in a trade for Petrino...

Texas boosters promise unlimited "pizza" to Petrino and/or chemical castration as part of the terms of his contract...

If Herman to LSU I can give a frick about Texas. Texas is not the top job many perceive it to be, but because of them, the Big 12 is a shite fest and there is an uncertain future to what will happen in the Big 12.

The SEC for example, all the money that each team brings in from bowl games are put into one pot and divided among all 14 schools.. Each school gets a nice pay day after the bowl season. Texas, well they thought they were the most valuable team to the Big 12 and I am not exactly sure how it happened, but they were able to get a bigger percentage of money from bowl games each year than the other schools..

As a result, Texas A&M, Missouri, Nebraska, all went to other conferences. There is a certain arrogance Texas seems to have and they expect their head coaches to do a lot more than just coach football.. They need a head coach/politician and if I were an up and coming HC I wouldn't want to coach there. There are a lot of outside factors that can affect how a HC performs so I hope they fire Strong and then end up having to settle for someone like Gene Chizik.

Maybe they are left with PJ Fleck, or go after Jimbeaux? Les Miles? Really don't care

They need a bigger hire than Herman in order to dump Strong, this year. So they keep Strong, without extending his contract and with a view to making a homerun hire, next year.
