You really want to go there? He interviewed at several schools last year before deciding on ASU. He wasn't selected for those other bigger schools.

you get to choose between answering to jacobs every day or getting paid more to be back at home working for jeff long its a no brainer you go back home. boosters meddle less, nicer facilities, and a bigger paycheck await if he's a good little puppet for auburn for a few years.

No. Just no.

Malzahn wont leave AU for Arky. Period. No matter how much better you think Arky is compared to AU, the fact is: It isn't.

NOLA is correct that shipped sailed and regardless of what you think most all SEC and southern coaches would not and could not work for LONG. I think a lot of them saw what he did to Petrino and thought they needed to work for an AD that protects them and not throw them under the bus.

You honestly think that AU won't match whatever Arky offers if he succeeds at AU?

you have no idea what your talking about. What petrino did was inexcusable at any university, no one would have kept him on staff after that.

And this is one reason I did not want Gus. His little fanbase is stupid. Common sense would dictate that we probably could not hire him because unless Auby is stupid they have a no compete clause in his contract.

well his boss is better, we really could outbid you if we wanted. There are very few schools that could actually outbid us. And we'll give him whatever he wants (we just rebuilt a shite load of stuff for petrino)... of course all this depends on him having success at auburn and not flaming out. If he doesn't do well then this is all a moot point.

Did not read the entire thread, but is the basic argument is that Malzahn will be very successful and the Coach B at Arkie will fail...
Is this one fact we can all agree on?

Anyone who thinks Jay Jacobs is long for AU is dumb. Once he hits his retirement with the school, in the next year, he is gone. And Pat Sullivan is next in line.

AU has much better facilities and more tradition.

Well if he ever wanted to go home I could see where Ark would be his dream job, escaping the shadow of Bama that will never go away.

I'll give you the fact he may want to go home, but did his name even come up for consideration when Arkansas had the vacancy this year? If Arkansas really wanted him and he wanted Arkansas, why didn't it happen this year?
