Extremely doubtful he would leave AU for Arky if he's having success. Arky was supposed to be Tubs dream job too.

Gus is an arkansas fan. some coaches have dream jobs, HC at Arkansas is his. See Mike Anderson episode where Mizzou fans assured us there is no way he'd leave them.

No head coach would ever leave Auburn for Arkansas.

Auburn fans don't understand the the relationship he has with northwest arkansas. His colt leader is located in Springdale.

There's a qoute out there from the Bear that he was headed to Fayetteville to be the coach, but then Pearl Harbor happened, America got in the war and he enlisted and ultimately ended up at Maryland when the war was over.

eta: Armani Ronnie and the PTB would make sure if Gus is ever offered, he'd have to think about it for maybe 1/2 a second.

Job Hoppin' Gus would do a barnstorming bus tour all through the little towns in Arkansas on his way to Fayetteville.

If we want Gus the Pius we'll take him but don’t worry. We didn’t want him now and we won't want him and his Mickey Mouse offense in the future.

things change when you land a job at a big time sec school like AU. This just won't happen.

Arky is a destination job is the correct answer here.

Seriously though.
I honestly believe mike slive will put the axe on any sec coaches going straight to other sec schools. Last guy to take a step up in the sec as a head coach other than nutt (which I believe Arky told him to hit the road) is tommy tubb. It just doesn't happen that often so no, I don't think auburn will have to worry about Gus leaving for another job. Especially a job in the sec.

Besides Brett B will have Arky going to bowls so they won't be in the market.

Was on his way to Arkansas to accept the job when Pearl Harbor hit. He turned the car around and headed back to enlist.

The real question should be does anyone want Gus? I see auburn fans have done a solid job of convincing themselves that this was a good hire. The truth is if auburn was good job Gus wouldn't be the head coach now. Just like chiz wouldn't have been last hire if the job was desirable.

It's a really good tryout for Gus. We talked to him before spring ball when we got rid of petrino. Which was a good move to keep relations open. All the people that fricked Gus over are gone from the athletic department. If we ever need gus he will come, probably make us pay out the arse but he'll come. but that's only if his test run at auburn goes well.

good god you frickers are ridiculous. When Arky wins a championship let me know. Much harder to win at Arky than AU, fact.

Gus isn't your normal coach. He's motivated by his personal happiness at a location not money or school prowess. With that said we'd give him a raise and outbid auburn if it came down to us really wanting him.
