If Fickell comes and has success at LSU, would he bolt back to Ohio State if offered?

Bridges may or may not have been burned when he was passed over for Urban, but bridges can also be rebuilt in the right circumstances.

I remember how unpleasant the Michigan cloud was over Les those years.

He would just OSU as a leverage point for raises, similar to coach goofus and Michigan.

i wouldn't expect anything else. wouldn't blame him either.

the rust belt grows football coaches, the deep south mainly grows glorified used car salesmen.

The majority of your candidates are from Ohio, so they would probably all bolt for Ohio State.

Yes. He would likely go back.

That said, Day is 6 years or so younger than him and there appears to be no indication he plans on leaving anytime soon.

That’s the advantage of hiring a coach who did not attend a major program. Find a good candidate who went to a smaller school, like Fresno State for example. They would never pony up the cash for a top tier coach, where OSU, UT, Bama all have pockets deep enough.

LOL. O is still here and we're discussing if his potential replacement would come, have success and then leave for (fill in the blank) reasons. UnFreal

I don't think so. If he wins a championship in his first 2-3 yrs, why would he leave?
The unknown variable right now is where the SEC is headed as a conference over the next 5 yrs. The BIG10 may not be able to compete with the SEC by 2027ish, so he wouldn't leave for less money/championships.
