If he is staying, LSU should have announced that during the game because every recruit in the nation was watching as ESPN kept breaking in to announce that if offered he would go.

This whole thing is looking more and more like a Les Miles fake field goal. He is playing his hand. He wants a 4-5 year extension on the 3.75 million he is making now. He is playing his hand wisely.

I think the only way Brandon leaves BTR on that Lear is if he has in hand a signed contract from LM.
You don't leave Les where LSU has the last word with him.
I was in management in the car business for 20 years. It was futile to try to last-minute-persuade a customer to buy a Toyota via cellphone when they were physically sitting in the Honda dealership waiting to sign up.
"Prepare Schembechler Hall for a new staff," is good news, at least as far as meaning this will be over today.
I'm not infallible, but I think that Les-less Lear means it's more likely that "new staff" will be Hoke's.

or as you said, Brandon had a signed contract in hand from Miles when he got on the plane and is letting him meet with LSU higher ups, the team, etc. Maybe I'm in denial, but I refuse to believe this ends with Hoke for us, no flippin way.
No news, no word of any press conference called on LSU's end yet??

This is what I'm afraid of. Miles was already signed and sealed before Brandon left, and Miles is tying up loose ends.

David Brandon was at his home in Scottsdale for 2 days then Dallas for 2 days while the Coaching convention was going on before he met with Miles. It's silly to think he didn't meet with several coaches in both places. David is the type of person who collects all info then takes it back with him and thinks it over before he makes a decision that could end up being his legacy.
He is not your typical AD, he played football under Bo, was a UM regent for many years, and quit a job paying over 3 million a year to become the AD that makes 600 thousand a year. He has also donated 5 Million of his own money many years ago to the UM Motts Childrens Hospital.

I never said or dismissed the idea he didn't meet with other coaches in both places just because I didn't write it. Thats why I said the scenario I threw out was purely speculation on my part. Could be a plausible scenario. Maybe he did meet with other coaches, or maybe he solely met with Miles agent. We really don't know. I also said in another thread that he probably met with Hoke while he was in AZ or LV.

Wouldnt Hoke have been in Dallas for the coaches conference, at the same time that Brandon was there? Why in the world would Brandon be in Dallas, with Les in BR?? Other than to meet with another coach?? Miles flat out said, UM hadn't met with him in Dallas.
Was UMs late night shenanigans in BR, just a last attempt at swaying Miles? As Brandon boarded the plane in BR, Hoke was already a done deal since he agreed to take the job in Dallas.

I believe if he is back in AA and he plans on introducing a coach in the next 24 hours then Hoke was already on board. I would think that Brandon has Hoke in his pocket and told him, we have to talk to Miles and if nothing comes of it...youre our guy. He probably called Hoke from the plane and said, be in AA in the morning.

To possibly talk with Miles agent?? Isn't he based out of Dallas?? He doesn't necessarily need to speak with Miles, he can put out feelers etc through Miles agent...
I don't know who it will be, but I know Brandon told people yesterday to prepare for the new coaching staff. No way Brandon is back here in AA if he doesn't have someone lined up. Plus, you guys are only an hour behind right? Don't you think someone at LSU would have mentioned by now Miles was staying if thats the case?

This was one of the more amusing quotes to come out of yesterday's circus. What are they going to do? Wax the floors? Wash the windows? Hang maize and blue streamers? Like they didn't know the minute they fired Rodriguez that a new coach would be taking up office space?
