I'd be shocked if Tolbert is not on staff soon...

He won't have a job with the Bills after today anyway. If I were a betting man, I'd say GC "resigns", Tolbert takes over as WR coach, and Gonzo becomes OC.

This would be very encouraging...news
Still a bit risky to promote a guy who hasn't coached an offense yet,but everyone has to be given that chance sooner or later...

Bottom line for me is that Gonzo is too proven to take a lateral move. He's got a good track record, and I'd think would get picked up quick as someone's OC soon. There had to have been more than meets the eye with his hire.

Why would an NFL wide receivers coach, take a job working for a college level wide receivers coach?

We replaced two coaches because one left to be a head coach and another was fired.
The staff is set for next year. The administration is in no hurry to help Miles prolong the inevitable. They're not going to throw any more money at the problem than they already have.
They've done what has been needed on the recruiting front, but at this point, probably willing to cut their losses after next year with Lombardi's albatross.

Because the Bills are about to turn over their staff, and he's an LSU/Louisiana man. Plus there were reports in December that a deal was done - indicating it's not an obscene thought.

I get that, but wouldn't it make more sense for him to persue a similar job on the pro level, or possibly an OC job on the college level? Seems like a step backwards to me, to go from an NFL receivers coach, to a college receivers coach.

Good point. Maybe we'll stay with status quo. The guy we have now has called plays and coached QB's.
A guy who has WR coaching experience should be able to coach QB's I'd think. Unless he's lived under a rock his entire coaching career, it shouldn't be too far fetched.

There is no way LSU is going to up Chavis' salary 150K plus, then give Crowton a check for 800K to take a hike, and then cough up another multi-year $1M contract for a new coordinator. Miles' boss will tell him it;s his decisons to hire these guys and shell out all this money -- make it work. Which is what he should say. No way this will happen. Get over it.
