Not to mention, Jimbo has his Malleveto in his current DC, Charles Kelly, and doubled down on him last year, giving him a fat raise and extension.
He got the raise and extension because Auburn tried to hire him away. Now Auburn does have terrible tastes in defensive coordinators, so your point is well taken.

Right, he had an out and didn't take it!
Les would have been murdered for that here.

Further, some sources of mine have speculated that for non-football related reasons, Athens could be better for Pruitt than Tallahassee.
it's pretty well known among FSU fans that Pruitt was slaying co eds.
But LSU does indeed pay their assistants more. Hell, Miles had the highest paid staff in football this year.

Bud said that it wasn't because he had a bad relationship with the staff, and that people speculate their might be reasons off the field. Not real definitive.
All we know is Jimbo wanted to retain him, they were late to match, and Jimbo sees that teams with greater commitment are paying staffs about 25% more than FSU is willing to pay.

He also said they offered the same amount of money.
And they are paying Kelly like 850k now.

They matched late. It was basically an unvitation. When Georgia takes your people, you aren't doing enough at the administration level. Period.

Jimbo + Pruitt at FSU = NC
Jimbo + Aranda at LSU = NC

He's been sowing discord to our local media regarding Miles since he came on the scene. He has a lot of pluses, don't get me wrong, but his opportunism and ambition are startling.
Sadly, i'm starting to agree with this. His PR campaign ALMOST DQ's him from working for another HC at LSU
Posted on 11/21/16 at 4:26 pm to SportTiger1
I would be very concerned that he would undermine me like he did to Miles.

I think you said it best. Jimbo is the safest hire. I don't think he's Saban or Harbaugh, but he's the next best thing and he might be attainable. He may never win a 'ship, but he will win consistently. Agree on Herman too. The small sample size makes you nervous but the upside is exciting.

Jimbo won the natty at FSU with the best defensive line in college football that year. Defense wins championships.

Correct
And LSU has a top tier DC

I pointed that out because the OP gave us nothing but offensive stats. I know LSU fans are starved for offense. We were too under Tubbs. Just be careful what you wish for.

See, this is how you do a thread. You post facts, some people disagree. You ask for their reasoning. Call one or two "misguided

Why would I have posted defensive stats? We have our DC and the new HC obviously needs to be offensive minded in order for LSU to get over the hump
LSU defense is more than fine
If we lose Aranda then all hell breaks loose
