The year before ash, Arkansas was 114th in total d.in his first year, he improved the D from 114 to 74 and actually recruited some good talent.
I wonder when Arky fans will put it together that he was the DC that led Wisconsin to 3 straight rose bowls and he is the primary defensive signal caller for one of the national championship finalists. The only place he want a winner was at Arky. But seriously, who ever won there?
Also,he took a pay cut to escape Arky. Now that's funny.

yep, look he may or may not be the guy for LSU, but I refuse to think he's a bad DC, based on what he did at Arkansas, especially since he was there for one year. had he been there for 3 or 4, then I understand, but 1 year doesn't prove anything.

Don't even try, these guys are desperate they have no choice but to try and talk up an absolutely awful coach in case they hire him. They will pump sunshine like none other, it's why they're the laughing stock of college football right now.

Haha at trying to attribute our defensive success this year to offensive improvements. The defense kept games close all year while the offense is responsible for at least a couple of our losses.

You've all convinced me. Chris Ash is a genius and our defense was only worse under him than John L Smith and Paul Haynes because we're little ol' Arky and have nothing but 5'8 white boys on defense. He will surely field the #1 defense with all of the talented 5 star athletes at LSU. I am so scare. Please don't hire!

Consider this: Robb Smith had the same talent available in 2014 as did Ash in 2013. And our 2013 defense may perhaps be the worst I can remember.
