I am hoping/expecting a big name that most of us didn’t see coming.

I highly doubt Rhule is leaving the NFL for college. Fickell would be the more likely option. That’s what I’m hopeful for anyways

It's comical people won't believe Riley isn't the target when media sources everywhere and OU 247 has articles on the offer and where Riley stands.
How in the frick can you see all the chatter and NOT believe he is the real target?

I think the following can just about be considered factual at this point:
1). Lincoln is top target
2). Scottie made him a raging mega huge offer
3). OU blew it up (leaked it)
4). …..waiting game
I’m not so sure the deal gets done, but if it doesn’t it’s not because these events aren’t really happening

It’s possible there’s another target but I wouldn’t think it was Rhule. I keep wondering about names like Meyer because he’s won at such a high level. Texas didn’t give Herman enough time. But SW doesn’t want troubled coaches so who knows.

I wouldn’t overthink this search. TBL has been money all along and said it’s on to Tier 2 if Riley declines. Aranda and Napier are at the head of the Tier 2 class from TBL.

Ok I can see that. I guess I’m just hoping there’s something else going on other than a bidding war going with OU. If it goes to tier 2, I think it’s Napier. I think Aranda is a better fit at USC and can build his own legacy.

Either way, I feel we have a better “backup plan” and better leader this time than we did with Alleva.
That probably goes without saying.
I feel confident Woody has his ducks in a row if Riley falls through. I doubt that Woody will be scrambling if we have to move on from Riley… I’m sure he’s got a plan for that scenario.

finally some peopel with common sense that can read the tea leaves.
at this point its pretty damn simple
we offered a mega offer....we wait and see where it lands. Does that mean we may lose a couple back up plans...absolutely but I think Woodward is comfortable with Campbell and Napier as the backup plan and knows Napier will not sign anything until LSU job is filled. I think we lose aranda to usc because of the waiting but woodward has been around Aranda enough to know if he feels like he is the guy or not(doesnt sound like he feels he is)
