What kind of person/coach would NOT want to coach his team through its first playoff and possible championship?

The new coach of the LSU Tigers, of course.

He stated in the Monday press conference point blank that his intent was to coach his current team until the season is done. Not sure where he is going with this, but I don't see how it is possible.

We have some time.
Early Signing Day is the only concern but the guys who are interested would probably just wait until February to sign here.
Portal opens January 2nd. So theoretically, Kiffin could stay at OM and coach 2 rounds. Good chance they don’t make it past that. Kiffin is at LSU 2 days after they are eliminated.

If Kiffen's angling to coach in the CFB Playoffs he's scheming to stay at OM, or LSU has been a smokescreen all along to camouflage a move to the NFL

If he does accept the LSU position, LSU has stated they would allow him to coach the remainder of this season & wait for him. It will be up to Ole Miss to allow him to do so.

I get that Ole MIss is having the most successful season in their history. They aren't as talented as last year. They also have skated on an easy conference schedule and easy non-con. No P4 non-con games. They played 5 SEC teams with 2 or less conference wins.

GSU: 1-10
UK: 2-6 Conf
Arky: 0-7 conf
Tulane: 9-2 non P4
LSU: 3-4 Conf
Wash St: 5-6 non P4
UGA: 7-1 #4
OU: 5-2 #8
SCAR: 1-7 conf
Citadel: 4-8
UF: 2-6
MSU: 1-6

I don't see them lasting long in the playoff. ETA: TAMU's schedule was easier.

LSU would do it self a favor to let Kiffin Coach .. then hire him after their season ends .. It wouldn’t hurt recruiting if LSU handles it right… we would get lots of praise from the National Media , possibly erasing the impact from Governor Landry’s comments…

If we put too much pressure on him, he might go the other way (UF could be stepping back for that reason, easing up the pressure on Kiffin) while LSU is in full court press… Hope LSU plays their cards right

What’s better, come to LSU and have a chance at multiple championship teams, or going all out with Ole Miss for 2025? Ole Miss can’t beat Ohio St, Indiana, Notre Dame, or Georgia.

Why wouldn’t he? I always thought that he would Coach till he got eliminated from the Playoffs, who wouldn’t? The irony is that the schools that will give you the most need to move on now, in order to hire coaches and recruit for next year.
