That was just one lie in the long list of lies foisted upon the fanbase by 0 and his propaganda machine. It was always going to be Ensminger because 0 knew he could control him.

This is sadly true too. They honestly don't mind Freeze, but they use this bull shite excuse to cover up the fact that they wanted Ensminger all along, which is moronic. Like you said, just another line of lies Orgeron and pals feed the fan base, and I feel embarrassed.

Let me get this straight, LSU doesn't want Freeze because of his poor morals, but we've got a slimy fat convicted felon as special assistant to the Head Football Coach?
Makes sense...

I seem to be reading where a lot of fans agree with you. I think you have a right to your opinion even if I don't agree with it.

but I can assure you LSU football is not a joke. there is not one team on our schedule that will take us lightly. if they do, we will kick their arse.

In what reality can you look at the last three years of LSU football and claim that the higher ups care about the program's on-field success?

The sec doesn't care who hires freeze. That was a false narrative to appease fans with the audacity to think we should expect more from our program than the endless parade of internal promotions from habitually underachieving staffs

Would you trust a man like Orgeron, with a checkered, colorful past, to make a morally questionable hire like Freeze or Briles?

Especially when you're grooming a staff member as "next" and will let him clean house in couple years?

How stupid can LSU be to not hire Freeze bc the "SEC" is frowning on him being in the conference, but Saban hires Freeze for a role in staff.

The stupidity of F. King Alexander and his self-destructive quest for "optics" knows no bounds.

If he could help Grandpa and Great-Grandpa design an offense to beat the midget, you're damn right we'd take him as an analyst.

I think there's an even chance that the SEC told us to back off holding him for $aban or that 0 just flat lied. Both are extremely plausable scenarios.

What would you do if you were in a position to hire a guy who took your job at the last place?

I think if a compelling case is made to Sankey as to why to give Freeze an opportunity - either on or off field - then Sankey would be good with it. I'd imagine he didn't want someone (Arkansas, Tennessee, MSU, etc) trying to hire Freeze as HC due to the PR nightmare that would ensue at every press conference, media days, etc. Having him as an assistant somewhere and not allowed to talk to media (as is Saban's policy) eliminates some of the Sankey concerns.

As for why LSU didn't hire him, I'd imagine it would have something to do with your coach never seriously considering him for a few reasons.

Week, as Bear Bryant would agree, he is with us so he can’t help someone else beat us, right?

I'm accepting the Ensminger hire and moving on. Frankly, I do not expect much improvement until an institutional commitment is made from the BOS on down to dramatically improve the football program, which also has to be done from the top down.

LSU has a history of making "cheap" hires - well, we pay our assistants more than anybody. Yeah, salary creep around the league, primarily driven by Sexton, ended up having Miles being more or less mid-pack, but at times he was #2 or #3 in the conference from a compensation standpoint.

I don't know what other corners are being cut, but we also operate recruiting on shoestring - at least compared to Alabama. I'm hopeful that - if nothing else - O will get that infrastructure going in the right direction - he knows that part of football backwards and forwards. With his taking less salary, maybe he will get them to open up the checkbook for that operation.

Finally - until someone with authority and resources says, "We want to win - within the rules of the NCAA (but just barely), period" - then our risk-averse compliance department is going to hold LSU back into the 3rd, 4th, maybe 5th spot (at best) in the conference and keep us out of the Top 10 and the playoffs until further notice.

Welp the gap just got wider between us an Alabama over incompetent decision making. Alleva and O you are getting what you deserve, by making stupid hires

Dont be a drama queen. I cant stand O, I am not a fan of the E hire...but come on. Reasonable people can or should be able to see there are many reasons why you DONT hire Freeze.

Bama has an army of analysts. Could LSU not have hired freeze as an analyst?

That's not being a drama queen. It's common sense, if you are lagging behind on the conference but are expecting to compete for Championships, hiring the best available should be a no brainier. My point was we were sold on one thing by hiring O, now we are getting something different. He didn't have to be our OC, but whatever position he is being hired for at AL, it should have been done here and be accepted

You don't really believe Freeze won't be coaching? Saban pushes the envelope on everything.

We wanted him as the freaking OC.
