How stupid can LSU be to not hire Freeze bc the "SEC" is frowning on him being in the conference, but Saban hires Freeze for a role in staff. Welp the gap just got wider between us an Alabama over incompetent decision making. Alleva and O you are getting what you deserve, by making stupid hires

That was just one lie in the long list of lies foisted upon the fanbase by 0 and his propaganda machine. It was always going to be Ensminger because 0 knew he could control him.

He's rumored to be taking an off-field analyst role, not the OC job at Alabama. This means he can do zero recruiting, zero coaching, etc. Is this the role you wanted him at LSU?

It doesn't really matter what the reason is I guess, just disappointing there are so many incompetent fools running it by athletic department.

Don't confuse incompetent with indifferent. While the athletic department has its share of incompetence (see: Alleva) it also answers up the chain to powers that give zero shits about the quality of output from athletics other than money earned.

We don’t care about winning. Period. Enough Cajuns will still pay the fee and sit in the stands to watch the same garbage year after year.

The administration knows they’re in no real trouble and that’s why this shite is allowed to perpetuate. The whole process that is LSU football has become a joke these past 3 years; from how Miles was fired-not fired-then fired again, to Orgeron being named after no search, to forcing out a great offensive coach because our Dline coach HC couldn’t get along with him, to promoting a guy who didn’t want the job after yet again no search.

We are a national fricking joke. We are the only fan base that doesn’t see it. Everyone else is laughing at the dumpster fire we are.

So Saban will have a former head coach that was able to beat him twice working on play design, scheming, and opponent preparation. Yeah, who would want that kind of talent and ability on staff?

I think you hire a good offensive mind to any available spot you have, especially when that is side of the ball you are struggling with the most. Might not be game changing being an analyst. My point was it was widley perceived he was too risky, but yet the team that has been beating your rear end be for the past 7 years turns around and hires him.

He had that with Sarkisian and it didn't really make much of a difference. I'll ask you this, Saban will be making an OC hire as well. How much authority do you think will be delegated to Hugh Freeze? Dude is at the bottom of the totem pole. This is Saban's way of helping out a friend, nothing more nothing less.

last time I checked Saban has an opening at OC. Why didn't he go after Freeze for that position?

you don;t see the difference in the OC and an non-staff position in terms of risk?

What? They made it to a national championship with a true freshman QB only to lose in the final.

OK? He will still have input and a job on staff to contribute to the team's performance.

No, this is Saban's way of getting a great offensive coaching talent on staff to get whatever he can from it. If Freeze contributes nothing but one or two plays that can turn the tide in a game propelling them to another championship, it will be all worth it.

At this point if you don't understand that Saban "gets it" and 0 doesn't, I don't know how to get through to you. Saban is a winner, 0 is a loser. Saban hired Freeze, 0 didn't. End of story.

FWIW I think it’s really neat how you use 0’s instead of O’s

Cutting edge innovation...

Who wouldn't? Is there a limit on how big our shadow staff can be?

Obviously, I would prefer him as OC but am I really going to turn down the input from one of the best offensive minds in the conference?

Its OK LSU hired the best sons HS football coach in the nation to fill in our advisor role. Freeze has nothing on him.

O had no intentions of hiring Freeze. The E guarantee was his man from the beginning. He said it.

I wonder if Orgeron knows Ensminger can’t control Bama where Freeze did relatively well. Once again Orgeron shows what an idiot he is.

An offensive analyst cannot recruit per NCAA rules. Only 10 coaches can actually instruct on the field as well as 4 GAs per NCAA rules. If you believe he can do either, then you are "retarded" or ignorant, take your pick.

Look at the bright side. When 2018 becomes an inevitable disaster train wreck, Orgeron and Alleva are pretty much guaranteed to be gone. That's the only thing I'm looking forward to for the football team in 2018.
