Hypothetical: If you were a DC, what type of team would you want to coach?

Would the offense a team ran determine whether or not you'd be the DC at that school?
Just thinking about Stoops at Auburn. It is very apparent that quick striking, high paced offenses tend to be paired with poor defenses. IMO, this is due to the time of possession being in the other team's favor and your own offense making more mistakes due to them taking more risk.
that being said, if you have a great offense, it can hide a lot of your deficiencies as a defense because you can outscore a ton of people. Plus, the scoring should put the other team's offense into a desperate situation and you could take advantage of the chances they take.
Or...
You could coach at a team with a great running game, control the clock, and take a few shots when needed. Just enough offense to keep your defense fresh and let your defense control the game.

Pro style, run first offense. HC committed to a physical style on offense, defense, and special teams. Also, HC who lets me do my thing. If the HC insists on a quick strike, finesse offense, I don't pick up the phone.

We were #1 in the Big 12 in yards per play. Look how that turned out for us.
I would say an offense similar to the mid 2000's USC teams, which I would also say is the ideal offensive style for a conference like the SEC. Built on the run game, they probably ran it 55-60% of the time, but still had a play action pro-style pass attack that could take it down the field in a 2 minute drill. Obviously the personnel helped, but to me that is the ideal college offense when you're recruiting athletes like those in the SEC.
