re: Hugh Freeze Press Conference

I'm more open to this guy now than I was before. The other night I was thinking "Why couldn't we get Kirby or Hud?" Then I started thinking about what Hud had done at ULL. He and Freeze are both in their first years as head coaches in the Sun Belt. Hud went 8-4 and Freeze went 10-2. Freeze also beat Hud head to head and won the conference. And i didn't know this until now but they are the only team this year to hold Va. Tech under 100 yards rushing. If you really look at it, he's a better hire than Hud but for some reason we would have been happier with a less successful coach.
Yes this is a huge risk, but I feel a little more comfortable about this now that I've had time to sit and think about it.

I was a little put off by the "Aw shucks" corny humor, Bible verse quoting, Sunday morning Baptist preaching, Family, God, Country stuff. He was laying it on a little thick for my taste.
I was hoping for more of a Badass, Intimidator sort of character.
But all that really matters is how the kids respond to him on the field and on recruiting visits. Can't get much worse.

I'm not mad at all. I'm just going to hold judgment until something is proven to me. I'm not going to just up and buy in to something that could end up being a failure a few years from now. I've learned, with this university, to not buy in so quickly to things. I don't want to set myself up for failure.

You're making yourself miserable. Get on the Freeze Train!

WVU had over 500 yards total offense on LSU this season.
ASU was the only school to have both a top 30 offense and defense in the nation.
as sorantable said......frick you haters. Get on the Freeze pain train. Nutt, you said yesterday something about a "divided fan base". Well guess what.....you're dividing it RIGHT NOW.
seriously. You're calling Freeze a failure and he hasn't even coached a game for us. I get it.....you don't approve of the hire. But he's our coach like it or not. At least give him some support instead of throwing a bitch fit.
Hell.....the players are on board, why not you? If you guys can't, then you might as well officially change favorite teams.

Arkansas State has a more talented roster than we do. They fired their coach and brought in Freeze because they all felt like this was their chance at a successful season.

like i said....if he can prove that he is a winner in a big conference...then I'll eat some crow. But I'm not going to put money into a program that keeps following the same path over and over since 2004. Hate me for disagreeing with yall all you want, that's fine.
Yeah I said something about a divided fanbase. I said if this man was hired it would be divided. And it is.
I'm just not going to spend anymore money until it is proven to me that things will change. I think I have every right to be frustrated at what is going on.

Calm the frick down. I support the hire, the coach, the team, the players, and all that. I was just looking for Darth Vader, and instead I got the SuperChristian outfielder who married Millie in Bull Durham.

No. Our program/athletic administration does.....until proven otherwise.

wasn't really speaking towards you. I'm talking about the person who is more or less telling Ole Miss to GFY until we start winning.
seems incredibly bandwagon-ish, if you ask me.

Eh, I'll support Freeze. I just won't go out of my way to get back for a game until I see something recruiting wise etc....

Do I think that this is the best hire in the world? No, but it could turn out nicely, we don't know.
Am I going to whine like a little bitch and quit buying season tickets and supporting my school? No, I'm not a little bitch and I have a little optimism that things can and will get better. The reason they wouldn't is because of fans quitting on the school/team and not supporting them, like you are doing. Grow up...

Freeze and Frank Wilson were the backbone to the Orgeron recruiting machine.
Freeze is known for a being a hard working recruiter and said he's going to implement Orgeron's 12-month recruiting plan that he's been using ever since.

I'm aware, but we don't have Wilson yet do we?

Negative. Freeze has announced 4 guys he's already bringing over. One is Monte Kiffen's son(DL coach under Freeze)
another is a guy that will help lock down the Memphis area in recruiting.
