How often has a fired Power 5 head coach taken a coordinator job the very next year?

Lane Kiffen comes to mind but he was fired in Sept 2013...so he had some extra time to find his next job)...anyone else come to mind?

Muschamp was fired by Florida in November of 2014.

He was hired 4 weeks later as Auburn's DC.

His wiki says offensive analyst & offensive coordinator for his one year there, so I guess that depends on how nitpicky you want to get with it.

Greg Schiano went from HC @ Rutgers, to HC @ Tampa to DC @tOSU.

Jim McElwain was HC at Florida and now hes the wr coach at Michigan.


Mike Stoops went from HC at Arizona to DC at Oklahoma.

I don't know the answer to your question, but I do know that there is a recently fired Big 12 coach that is open to the idea of being LSU's offensive coordinator.
