This has been discussed. They can't afford to fire hi right now.

I remember when people thought he was a future SEC coach

Maybe he could coach at Miss State when Mullen leaves for Florida.

There are so many things you could finish that sentence with. Firing Hud is just one of them.

Unfortunately we're stuck with him a bit longer.

His red bull act is getting a bit stale, though

Getting? His act is ancient by now with the results he has given once Bustle's recruits were gone.

Dude flat out sucks at anything besides being a jerk.

ULL and Laf are broke, they are currently fleecing the students with tuition and fees trying to cover all the bs expansion cost.

Bustle couldn't recruit fire ants to a picnic. That may be a little harsh, he had a few good players, namely a good QB in Gauthier, and several other skill positions. He just couldn't seem to win.

I think Hud's initial success hinged on connections he made when he was in the SEC. He pulled in a few JC players and a couple of transfers early. Those seem to have dried up. Broadway and Mcguire were Hud's and a big part of his 2 best seasons, IMO.

He's also quite a motivator for the kids coming into the programs. That stuff can get old to us but for those young men, it's new and probably still appealing after 3-4 years.

My honest hope has always been that UL understands who they are and try's too position themselves as a stepping stone program for upward trending coaches (if Hud had been picked up early, it may have started a trend) or a retirement home for older good coaches who may be to old to be considered for a major program but still have a "want to coach"

He's probably safe for another year but there may be some motivated donors who could change that.

Looks like if they fire him this year, they owe him his remaining salary for 2017 plus 1.5M.

If they wait until 2018, parachute drops to 1M, but still has to pay 2018 salary of ~1M.
