How is LSU going to land an elite OC and DC if all the coaches are already in place?

Shouldn't they let their OC/DC decide who they want to coach with them? Another reason not optimistic about a big name being hired at OC at least. Maybe DC but typically if you get a big name you let him bring who he wants in. How many will tell us no because they have to take it or leave it with the position coaches?

I'm hoping that's the case because if it's not I don't think this is a very smart move. You should be only filling these officially when you make the OC/DC hires to see who they want to work with. OC I can understand more because it's probably BK's side of the ball and he's likely not going to get a big name here unless he's giving up control. It does make you wonder if they have some names already just not a finalized deal maybe?

Why would it not be announced yet when you're announcing all these position coaches? If it's finalized you announce it you don't wait around. You need it for recruiting purposes too.

Who said I was melting? I'm just asking an obvious question here. I don't know why you'd withhold announcing OC/DC but allow position coach names to be announced. It doesn't really make sense especially for recruiting.

It’s possible they are still coaching in the playoffs, major bowls, or NFL and want to finish their obligations there before making the move, just giving insight behind the scene. Not saying that’s what’s happening, but it’s entirely possible.

That's a good point. I can see that happening but from an LSU perspective, it's not healthy on the recruiting end. Maybe they concede the recruiting class and figure the hire is more important since they can just repair holes with the transfer portal.
