Maybe he is set on not coaching again, but it seems like one of these programs could throw enough money at him. Anyone else surprised by this?

why would he pass up his cushy gig now to go beg 17 year olds to play for him?

He's got a pretty sweet gig right now. I doubt he gives it up for the BS that comes with coaching.

when chip kelly was hired as HC he offered gruden the OC job because gruden wanted to learn the offense. He almost took it.

He just seems like he still wants to coach. The way he does all his segments he acts like he is still coaching.

I think he was a little above average as a coach(nothing great), but better than some of the coaches that are getting hired.

Seems that one of these programs would throw out a large amount of money at him.

We almost hired Jerry Rice as our WRs coach so it's not unfathomable

I don't care how he is on TV. He's well above average as a coach.

I don't understand the fascination with people throwing his name out there for college jobs. Other than Pete Carroll....how many NFL coaches go down to college and do well?

Why would they throw money at him? What has he proven to be capable of as a college coach? NOTHING. Why the hell does everyone act like he is the holy grail of college football coaching hires?

How many NFL coaches drop down to the college game? Usually it's the ones that can't win in the NFL. Jon Gruden has won in the NFL. I have little doubt he could win in college unless he was just a lazy recruiter.

Did you miss his tenure with the Raiders?

+1 I love how his detractors never bring up his time with the raiders. Trust me when I say he made all the difference in Oakland. The raiders had been so terrible prior to him arriving and he changed the whole damn culture of that organization. I would take him back in a heartbeat.

There's no doubt he messed up in Tampa but he deserves another shot.

I disagree. Tampa had to give up 2 first round picks to get Gruden I believe. That's a lot to give up and still expect to win games.
