its like they have this massive war chest and have no problem spending it and running out coaches. Yet Lsu was so worried about the money when miles was fired they would not get into a bidding war with jimbo

And LSU has plenty of money. There are just a bunch of morons who control a majority of it.

All SEC schools have a bunch of money. It just depends on who is controlling the purse strings when and where it gets spent.

Easy enough... AU has graduated numerous alumni with political and economic power as they are the cream of the socioeconomic crop.... That and they care about Auburn...

I got on a LSU alumni call once at work and was slightly amused/embarrassed to hear that LSU alumni give back the least amount of money (not sure if gross amt or as a percent, but think it was both) of any school in the conference.

Firing coaches and paying buyouts requires liquidity, either in the form of unallocated profits (pretty rare in an athletic department--they budget to spend everything they make in most cases) or donors who are willing to make huge donations for this purpose. Auburn has a few of the latter. A&M had one donor that was willing to put up the money for Sumlin's buyout. LSU has a lot of passionate fans, but the ones with the money may not be as willing, or as driven, to pony up for these kinds of expenses. Some folks are only willing to write big checks if they get something named after them, and there is no plaque anywhere commemorating the generous donor who funded a buyout.

I believer we are the only ones that donate more to Athletics than academics

They're better at embezzling from hospitals than LSU?

YellaFella is like a 10 year old fanboy in a rich adult's body. There is a reason the commercials all those years had all the different coaches in them. He pretty much interviewed and hired Tuberville away from Ole Miss during a charity golf event. He was also the one making overtures to Houston Nutt before the season was over in 2008. Wouldn't surprise me if he set up the meeting between Lowder/Housel/Walker and Petrino in 2003.

He was also, at one time, the chair of the Auburn Board of Trustees athletics committee. He basically bragged at an event in Huntsville that Auburn didn't hire a coach in any sport without his approval.
