What's funny to me is the whole "how would a fanbase react" as if there is unity in reaction because we all share a common team. It reveals very simplistic thinking by the OP.
It's also funny to me that y'all are talking about the death threats to Foster when LSU fans did the same thing to Jordan Jefferson during 21-0. But I guess since you are a part of the same fanbase as people who did that, then I can group you into that category.
On the Foster note, for as many idiots that threatened him, there are thousands more that supported him. Look up on Facebook and you will see a group that supports him with 30,000 members. Look up Bama fans for Cade on twitter and you will get more than enough messages of support.

Back to Saban, I would thank him for everything that he did for my university. He put us back on the map. If he feels that he should coach at Texas, my initial reaction would be disappointment, but not obsession.

My honest reaction?
I would not want Coach Saban anywhere but the University of Alabama. But it would be like losing an incredibly valuable employee to a competitor whose offer, in the opinion of the employee, would meet his or her personal criteria for positively improving his or her life. In such circumstances, I try like hell to accommodate the employee (and we don't lose many), but if those efforts fail, I wish them well. It's not personal with any but the most immature fan.

Lets see...left MSU after loss to LSU...left LSU after loss to Iowa in Cap One Bowl (I never saw a loss like this")...left Miami after mucho losses...BIG loss at Bama...well, the timing is right. Besides he can explain to Texicans what "didn't execute " means...means your 18 yr old screwed up my plan.

I think their level of denial is so high they would somehow pretend its not happening. Or that some truly bizarre thing happened to focre him out.
Look, I don't know if he's leaving, but I find it silly that Bama fans are saying there's no possible way he goes. I think it's closer to 50-50, but that means he could just as easily be in T-Town as Austin next year. I frankly don't know. But if you can't see the appeal to Saban for jumping to Texas, I don't know what to tell you.

I would thank him for adding to our crystal collection and wish him luck. He has been here 7 years. Stallings was here 7 years and nobody hates him. Any Bama fan that would get upset is an idiot. What would really be funny is the LSU fans that would start saying how they told us he would leave us.

Most Bama fans (nonbandwagon) are probably afraid of us falling back down to what we were between Stallings and Saban. Those weren't the best years to be a Bama fan. I hope this doesn't happen either way though.
The bandwagoners will shift their allegiance to some other school, maybe not originally but after a few bad years, they would all be gone and only the real Bama fans and Alumni would remain.

This is what I don't get. Have you been paying the slightest bit of attention? "Bama fans" aren't saying there is no way he doesn't leave. Do you people just completely make sh## up all the time?!! Up means down, left means right to some of you on here. Again, where the frick are "Bama fans" saying there is no way? (in before so and so Bammer said no way he leaves therefore "Bama fans" all believe this to).
