Honestly, I couldn't have fathomed being a student at a better time, and what he has done not only for the football program but also the University and community post tornado really has made me endeared to him. If he ends up in burnt orange, I would probably say thanks and wish him well.

Do you not remember how shitastic Bama was before Saban. We are more than grateful for everything he has done. Honestly when we hired him I never expected him to be here as long as he has. This is all just gravy now. I can't imagine how I could possibly be upset if he left.

I remember when Saban first left to the Dolphins, most fans weren't upset and were in many ways happy for him and thankful for him rebuilding LSU to a championship level. It honestly wasn't until he came back to Bama that a bunch of LSU fans got really upset about it. Even then, it wasn't until his successful run at Bama that people were really that upset, especially with how 2011 shaped up.

In the end, if he leaves, I honestly think most Bama fans would be disappointed, but be thankful for what he did. You'll have the few that think Bama built itself, Bama is the highest level in college anyone could want, and be upset that Saban felt Texas was a better place, but most would just deal with it, much like LSU fans in 2004 did.

Lets see...left MSU after loss to LSU...left LSU after loss to Iowa in Cap One Bowl (I never saw a loss like this")...left Miami after mucho losses...BIG loss at Bama...well, the timing is right. Besides he can explain to Texicans what "didn't execute " means...means your 18 yr old screwed up my plan.

This is the only post that makes sense. This is his first year at Bama with a big loss, so yep, he's gone.

Hey, dumbass, read my post.......I was asking for individual reaction not the fan base. Context much?! fricking idiot.

Read the rest of the posts in this topic for context to my post. One person generalizing the whole fanbase by talking about how Bama fans reacted toward Cade, etc. I gave you my answer at the end. Not sure why you couldn't read that far before resulting to insults.

Are those the communication skills that you were taught in Louisiana? If so,

I would be upset. Just because we would have lost a great coach and leader. However one thing to remember the program would be in much better shape now then when coach arrived. We would regroup and move forward. We have won many. NC before he arrived and will win after he is gone. Alabama football is much more than one coach or one player. It's about tradition and accomplishments. For some fans of other schools it would feel like the end of the world. For us it would be another opportunity to show why we are the greatest college football program of all time. We have plenty of room for more statues. There would be a line of outstanding coaches wanting the opportunity to come to Tuscaloosa.

I posted mine in another thread but for some reason it was deleted.
If he leaves after saying he would retire here, then LSU fans are right about him. He has said that he realizes his integrity suffered a hit when he left Miami and that it really bothered him.

I believe he is a man of integrity and that he won't go. If he does, then all credibility is gone.
The key is he has said on several occasions he isn't going anywhere b/c he is too old. If he left without having said that I would say thanks for the memories.

I'd be careful driving under any overpasses on I-59. You might get a suicidal Gump on your windshield.

Here's my opinion and Im gonna be completely honest here

Saban has been a great coach for Bama for sure and has set the program up for lots of future success. I am one of the Bama fans that feel like if Texas offers a ridiculous 7 yr/70 mil contract to a coach in his mid 60's I hope Bama doesn't match, let them have him if he wants to leave. Coaches would absolutely be lining up 1st of all for the Bama job but O would hope the BOT could get over their egos to realize Kirby Smart is the best option and if he retires that will be the heir apparent anyway. I will thank Saban for his absolutely awesome job at Bama and would be hurt that he decided to leave but make no mistake Bama was a national powerhouse before Saban and will continue after.

If he leaves the way it's been discussed in this thread he would be absolutely SKEWED by every media outlet so bad he might not recover and he will have to deal with that and with the perception that he ran away from the SEC etc and when you enjoy recruiting as much as Saban does that perception would upset him even as big as his ego is. The talent at Bama right now is at such a high level though that Bama would continue competing for the SEC and NC

You're gonna need a decent coach to develop that talent

Here's what I hope I don't do.

If Saban left Alabama,

I just hope I would not openly fantasize about Saban leaving Texas, latch on to every monthly rumor for 3 solid years and start this same exact thread every month for 3 solid years and keep getting my hopes up despite being proven wrong every single month about the same rumor for 3 solid years

Now that, that seems like a bad way to handle it.
