Examine it closely, and we aren't all that young. Not younger than teams competing at a higher level.

LOL, LSU started 19 upperclassmen. LSU also isn't the only team that experiences attrition to the NFL and transfers, good coaches adapt and win anyway. In his second year at a new program, Kirby Smart lost his starting QB and made it to the CFP championship with a true freshman QB. O has been with the LSU program for years and was even head coach for half of last season and is still making excuses for everything. Good coaches don't make excuses.

Bingo, and often blamed past recruiting. BTW, he was the recruiting coordinator for 2 years prior to taking over as HC.

We weren't young until we lost a game. Then all the excuses began

They were so young that 0 told the team they'd make the CFP:

quote:

It’s a springboard, players and coaches say, to what they’re calling a new era of LSU football — the Orgeron era.

“Coach O told us in the locker room,” guard Will Clapp said, “‘it’s a great win, but next season, things are going to be different. We’re going to be in it (College Football Playoff).’”

quote:

“First of all, Les Miles did a tremendous job at LSU and he hired me, so we’re grateful to him and we still love him,” Orgeron said recently. “I understand the expectations at LSU. I grew up in Louisiana. I’ve got the same expectations myself. I’m at one of the best schools in the country. You need to win every year. And we understand that.”

quote:

“First of all, Alabama is the benchmark,” Orgeron said. “You know that. I haven’t been given a certain amount of games that we need to win. But you’re at LSU. You’ve got the talent to win a multitude of games. I’m not going to put a number on it for every year, but every year we need to have big success.”

Anything bad happens with offense = Canada's fault

Anything bad happens with defense = Aranda's fault

Nothing is O's fault, even hiring coordinators, which was the entire grounds for his hire in the first place.

I have yet to understand the people who wanted O hired as the new HC.

Uh... I can believe it.

At points during the season, I felt like maybe I was wrong about O. I think I even posted that I might have been wrong.

After the bowl game, it's safe to say: I wasn't wrong. LSU will never compete for a championship with O at the helm, and without elite coordinators, this team won't even compete for respectability in the SEC West.

The good news? O and Miles residual costs won't be a major drain on the program after the 2018 season. The bad news? I suspect Alleva will still be the AD to make the next hire.

Next season's HC search could be a Tennessee style dumpster fire so big that it blots out the sun for a week.

People defending O with the excuse of attrition issues ignore the fact that he lost 4 OL with experience in the system AFTER he was hired and a couple until fall including a 5 star OT and 4 start OG.

The entire reason he was hired was continuity and to not have these excuses, but then his shitty management leads to it and people let his failures somehow excuse his other failures. It is unbelievable.

The first thing the guy said was he was going to let his coaches coach and not 1/3 way through the season he meddled in the part of the team he's completely unqualified the most for.

On top of that, LSU is now going to be on the hook for at least part of the buyout for Canada because O can't handle getting justifiably called out.

People claiming that Canada was undercutting his leader need to understand that O is literally a joke to everyone outside of his blind moronic supporters. I'd rather LSU lose with someone that isn't a proven failure than to be mediocre with a proven failure. At least the potential would still be there with the other guy.
