Wait everyone is saying he's an amazing recruiter...

He is, have you been to South Bend Indiana in winter. Not easy to recruit the talent from the south up there.

With Ed Orgeron, who was the least successful Ole Miss coach in decades.

I'm willing to give Kelly the benefit of the doubt. He played UGA in Athens well, and you can't tell me that was an even matchup in talent. Beat Clemson (yes, without Sunshine), which is pretty solid no matter who was taking snaps.
Didn't the team the lost to Bama in the BCS, go into Oklahoma and win solidly?

Biggest drawback, if you call it that, is he isn't some wunderkid full of crazy offensive ideas. He's an established coach with a rock-solid resume that nobody figured would leave.

And now he has little academic restrictions and talent filled state with no in-state competition and long existing pipelines into Texas and Florida to couple with his Midwest connections to lock in top 5 classes on the regular.

Got weed drug tests still though

Louisiana recruits are built different. A 3 star from Louisiana is like a 4/5 star in other states. Jack Bech, justin Jefferson as a small sample size I know there's more.

LRs bowl record is 1-4 and he is 0-3 in the CFP, but you were drooling over him, right?

So yall say he's a great recruiter and regularly puts together top 10 classes, but then say he's terrible vs ranked teams because he had inferior talent.

You can't have both, so which is it?

Your wrong. He is a great recruiter given the restrictions he has at ND. 1) He has the type of players to recruit very large OL from the Midwest, 2) TE's and QB's, etc. 3) Large DL, yes.

Where they miss out is getting those elite WR's and DB's that are all over Southern States.

So he has limits on what he can recruit and what he can get.

Again he is 54-9 in his last 5 years at ND
