It's silly when people are searching for a coach who is 100% proven. They don't exist outside of Saban and Urban.
IMO, Orgeron's time at USC as Interim HC is more relevant than his time a decade ago at dumpster fire Ole Miss. USC was much more recent and a much more equivalent level of program than Ole Miss.

No one knows if he has gotten better or not.
I don't want him to have the HC based off an assumption. Ole Miss was a decade ago but that's what we have to go on when he builds a team.

I disagree completely. But even using your reasoning, is 6 wins and 2 losses enough to convince you?
The only oppurtunity that Herman had was successful.
That's a much lower risk than taking someone with 8 good games and 25 bad games. Be it 10 years ago or not, you still have to take it into consideration.

The one thing O has going for him is he is one of the best recruiters out there. It's pretty much a given that he will lock Louisiana down. If he hires a good staff, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility that he can be successful here.

Is 6-2 enough for me? No.
That's why the rest of this season is a huge measuring stick for me.
6-2 at USC and 7-1 here? Yes, thats enough for me to believe he has improved since Ole Miss.

Pete Carroll was 33-31 with two playoff appearances in 4 seasons in the NFL before going to USC.
Orgeron is 17-27 overall.

Jimbo is 7-5 in his last 12 games...
Herman's upside is the same as O's at LSU...they could both win national titles...I don't concede that at all since its purely conjecture.
