I'm not convinced that Riley knows how to pick a good DC. He hasn't produced a good defense yet.

My buddy and I were stressing about that very thing early on, BUT once we thought more about it, we decided that if you think about how sharp Riley is, you realize he knows better than anybody his defenses have sucked cock. He's simply going to get the best DC available from now forward - simple as that.

He’s not that good look what happens everytime he plays someone worth a damn yea he can beat up in the teams in the big 12 but as soon as he gets to the playoffs his team sucks they always suck in defense idk what the heck y’all see in this guy ! And he only managed 14 points today ! If you want $hitty defenses every year sure but who wants that plus what the hell has he done ?

Well he was about to do so at season's end, but Woodrow/LSU came a calling, so now he's saving the big time DC hire for when he arrives LSU.

He dominates HIS CONFERENCE, you know, DOES HIS JOB, not to mention he gets a playoff berth EVERY SEASON. He will now arrive to LSU, hire the best DC in America, and he will dominate the SEC.

This is his fifth year. That's plenty of time to recruit his players and get his defense straightened out. It hasn't happened. Saying "next year" is for A&M.

One thing to remember is OU doesn’t get the amount of defensive talent LSU does. That could have a big impact on his defense. It’s not like the DC he has now is terrible. He is actually a highly thought of DC. There’s nothing they can do about the bulk of defensive talent funneling to the SEC schools. I’m not saying that’s the whole problem, but it could be a large part of it. I seriously doubt Riley wants to have terrible defenses. He’s well aware that’s why he hasn’t been able to win in the playoffs.
