Has Dave Wannstedt's name been mentioned as being on the list at any big school? Always thought he got the most out of his talent at a mid-level school at Pitt. I would think he would be someone that could do some good for Ole Miss. Not sure what an assistant head coach for Buffalo Bills gets paid, but is can't be too great.

He's not a head coach.

I stated that he was an assistant head coach at Buffalo (and I believe the linebackers coach). Or are you inferring that he is not head coaching material at a college level?

No.

I think what the previous poster was saying (and I agree) is that there are better candidates right now than him.

He was certainly making a turn around of the Bills D, until Kyle Williams and so many were hurt. He is a good D coach. Don't know about the Pitt deal, but don't think he had a bad record. Would guess he makes a good salary, as he is over all the D and that means above the DC.

Wanne didn't get the most out of his talent at Pitt...

He would get a top 20 recruiting class every year only to see that talent usually never live up.

Pitt had plenty of NFL talent during Wanne's era.

Great recruiter, not a good gameday coach.
