In 1976 Pittsburgh coach Johnny Majors accepted the Tennesse job for the 1977 season. Majors,Pitt and Tennesse worked out/agreed to,etc for Majors to coach the 1977 Sugar Bowl which indeed gave Pitt and Majors the national title.

Actually that's not answering the question. Franklin got fired therefore he can't be considered a D1 coach
