Campbell would need to really up that recruiting game. Thats my only concern.

Without attracting and retaining top 10 recruit classes, you're not winning championships.

His class is currently ranked in the Top 25 . . . in Ames, Iowa.

Didn’t he just get a contract extension in Feb 2021

Aranda is better
Hell Napier is better

Neither one of these guys has done yet what Campbell has done. Iowa State was one of the worst P5 football schools for decades before Campbell got there.

I swear, people act like Dave Aranda had a shutdown defense when he was here. He's not even close to being the best defensive coordinator LSU has had this century. Good coach who has done a very good job at Baylor in 1 bastard season and 1 real season, but the infatuation with some people around here is off the charts.

I would take Campbell, then Napier, then Aranda.

Correct, basically a “sure thing” as a fall back option if the big fish say no

Matt is a great guy but we need someone who is a little more tough and been through the wringer. Someone who can fit a little more culturally.
And here I thought the idiotic culture/one of us shite would stop now that we're canning the shrimp boat captain. This is why we can't have nice things.

In what order is that? Recent to later or later to recent?

It's not one of us...it's when he is building relationships with high school coaches, boosters, kids from bad areas, etc. Toledo and Iowa State are wayyyy different then down here. People down here don't understand how different of a place Louisiana is.

Sort of like how different Toledo and Michigan State was?

Saban was entirely confined to the midwest (Toledo, MSU) prior to his LSU tenure. He adapted. Not to say that Campbell would be Saban, but it isn't impossible that he could adjust to southern climes.

An reputable insider on 247 said he was just told Campbell will be offered the job. Same guy has been confidently saying Jimbo the last several weeks...

Hes good but he has dropped some bad games in September the past few years including Northern Iowa and ULL

He also had the most production returning of any P5 team(20 starters) including 2 preseason Heisman hopefuls and is 6-4.
