watching ESPN last night, there was a crawler on Stacey Searles, but I didn't catch what it said. Any idea what he's doing?

Should make for an interesting Ole Miss / Auburn game. Former OC vs. former HC. My money's on Nutt!!

What was the problem between Malzahn and Nutt at Arkansas?

Nutt hired Malzahn to get the Springdale boys (Damien Williams and Mustain both at USC, plus some others). Nutt kept his hand on the offense as usual. Malzahn bolts after one season to Tulsa. The state was basically split into sides between Malzahn and Nutt.

And yes Malzahn is a very good hire for Auburn.

Outstanding hire.

I think Gus is the biggest up-and-coming OC in the nation.

you're missing 2 things

1. nutt didn't really sign malzhan as much as his bosses signed the OC to get the springdale mafia

2. nutt abandoned an ineffective spread in favor of his offense. arky took off when nutt did that

Right here for the most part.

Wrong here, Nutt took the reins completely back against South Carolina during the 06 season. Production went down afterwards.

what wasn't the problem? the springdale boys thought they were lied to by nutt to get them to come to ar-kansas when nutt didn't run the offense they wanted. then the ad takes a meeting with the springdale boys mommas because they don't like the offense being run and all hell breaks loose. nutt should have resigned on the spot after the ad(broyles) sold him out by taking that meeting. after the meeting the players transferred to usc and gus bolted to tulsa. i don't know but hiring a guy 2 or 3 years out of high school doesn't sound like a good choice to me.

That's not exactly how it went, but there are some nuggets of truth.

Malzahn was forced on Nutt, and that was not right. The Dork didn't handle it right though.

Here is a link that sums the situatioin up pretty accurately. I'm calling it a soap opera b/c that is what it was.

Hog Soap Opera

There is plenty of blame to go around (really, Broyles was AD too long, a competent AD would have handled this much better), but the dirtiest hands are those of the Nutt family.

I hope they never come back to Arkansas.
