"Never say never".

GOD DAMNIT, you gotta stop toying with Vol fans like this

Shut it down if there's no truth to it.

Just came to post this:

quote:

I don't know what's going to happen in the future.

quote:

I love Monday night football, don't plan on leaving.

quote:

Never say never to nothing.

Don't hurt us, Jon.

Would be awesome to see Gruden on the sidelines again. His Chucky faces are the best.

This is what he said in 2012:

quote:

"No there isn't. Uh...I should probably tell my wife that because it does involve her and my kids. But no, there's no truth to that, I'm just excited about Monday Night Football and getting ready for the Giants and the Redskins."

quote:

"I mean, I just...I apologize, I really don't have time to get into all that stuff. I like what I'm doing, I'm just trying to hang on to the job I have to be honest with you. So let's leave it at that, and get into the real nuts and bolts of the Mike and Mike show."

This is true. Still think it would be cool to see him at UT.

Just glad it's them and not UF courting him.

There are FAR better college coaches who UT could get. But it's their school and if they like Gruden, go for it.

I didn’t watch, but his quote, per another site:

quote:

"Well you know Mike, I haven't talked to anybody and all I really have in my life is my family and football - that's about it. And, uh, I'm real sensitive to the coaches that are out there coaching so I don't speculate.

I just love football. I'm trying to hang on to the job I have. I'm very fortunate to be with the people I'm with. Uh, I don't know what's gonna happen in the future - I just know this: I'm gonna continue to give my best effort to the game ... stay prepared and uh ... I love Monday Night Football. Don't plan on leaving, but as you know in life, you never say never to nothin'."

I really don't understand it. The guy hasn't recruited in 30 years. He developed one NFL Qb- an old Rich Gannon.
Took over and won a SB with all time great defense that Dungy built then proceeded to run it into the ground.

Just because people hear him say Spider Y2 banana on Monday Night Football they think he is some kind of football genius

It blows me away that people try to use this argument. Gruden built a super bowl team and then won a Super Bowl with another. He won his division 5 out of his 11 years with two different organizations.

People also forget what Tampa gave up to get him, their 2002 and 2003 first round picks and their 2002 and 2004 second round picks. That didn't exactly set him up for success later in his tenure. Look at the Raiders in the years before he got there and then after he left. Tells you all you need to know.

Peterson is........my number one...........ahguyyyyyyyyyyy.

Would crawl through a hundred miles of broken glass, up the Great Smokey Mountains, in a blizzard, BUTT NAKED, for Peterson.

he was Raiders coach, not GM.

What we know about Gruden is that he's very good at coaching a veteran team, not so much trying to develop rookies. Now y'all want him to come in and deal with a whole team of players even younger than NFL rookies.

Make $6.5 million per flying around 6months a year to call MNF vs whatever UT would pay to be expected to work your arse off 12months a year, not to mention dealing with all the bullshite that comes with it,
