He had the exact same career trajectory at Rutgers that Sumlin did at A&M. He cashed in on a great player with a decent cast around him and rode that down to his actual level. He got out of there are the perfect time before the bottom fell out. He was good in that he elevated a traditionally bad Rutgers program. But that does NOT automatically make you an SEC caliber coach.
