Got to ask: Why would Lincoln Riley leave OU? He’s already joining the SEC

Makes absolutely no sense.

I could see if OU were staying in the Big XII maybe he wants to try his hand in the best conference.

But with OU joining what would be the point of leaving them now?

LSU is big boy in big boy league.

OU is a pretender is a little boy league.

Pretender to big boy league is not easy.

Way easier to recruit from LSU where you're the only game in town in the state. At OU (UT- Norman), you have to go out of state, mostly to Texas, where there's a ton of competition.

Maybe he wants to be holding the good end of the whipping stick instead of receiving the bad one??

OU is historically a better program and currently an equal program

I dont understand leaving either unless he is unhappy with something there

Lower probability of tornados in Baton Rouge than Norman, though hurricanes can sometimes spin them up. Much lower chance of ice storms.

He won't. Riley is Vitello. The rant has locked on to one guy and convicted themselves it's happening.

The idea is that Oklahoma is a tougher job in the SEC than it is in the Big 12 because of the competition and recruiting in that state.

I don’t know if that’s something Riley would buy, but that’s the argument.

I agree. It doesn’t make much football sense. And I’d imagine he has a loyalty to OU as they took a gamble on him and gave him a shot at a historical blue blood when, on paper, he was nowhere near qualified for.

While I think the Riley stuff is BS, to answer your question:

It’s much easier to win in the SEC at LSU than at Oklahoma. Look at Oklahoma’s record in the playoffs, as well at Texas A&M’s struggles since joining the SEC.
