He is 100 % correct in this article.

How far has LSU fallen? To a career journeyman coach, a failed head coach and a somewhat successful short term head coach twice. Orgeron may work out. He is talented. LSU has looked very good through most of his 5-2 run, but the wins were over unranked teams and the losses were to ranked teams. Still, he may be the ultimate diamond with the rough voice. He definitely could work out in the short term. But what happens after defensive coordinator Dave Aranda and Kiffin – if O gets him – move on to head coaching jobs? What happens long term?
I hope he wins, because he is a great person. But I would not have hired him.
Remember this, Orgeron is the only Ole Miss head coach out of six including him – three before him from 1983 to 2005 and two after him following 2007 – who did not have at least one winning season through three or more years on the job. Those five coaches, by the way, had 20 winning seasons in 30 years. Orgeron lost all three seasons, going 10-25 overall and 3-21 in the SEC, without probation. That was a decade ago, but that is still LSU’s new head coach.

It's just so bad it's funny. Like, Alleva just didn't even try. fricking Derek Ponamsky is going to be on the staff full time

Alleva did what he was told to do.
Back to the long history of going cheap - Mike Archer, Curly Hallman, Gerry Dinardo. We don't deserve this.

That's what I'm curious to see.
I'm sorry I don't dwell on something that happened 10 years ago. I don't believe at all he's the same.

I agree but I'm not going to sit here and cry over it. Orgeron will win big for a while. He'll keep Aranda hire and hotshot OC and probably knock off a few higher ranked teams maybe Sabear. Then the OC/DC will leave for HC gigs and we'll slowly slip.

Yep. I will just be a college football fan. And will laugh at LSU and Louisiana.

can't argue any more, what's done is done....really hope I'm wrong on this and O makes me eat my words. I would honestly love nothing more

Just like with Miles it's very predictable. You won't be eating any words.

Im done with this shite. Will be watching lsu games out the corner of my eye now. Not going to be the feature of my day/weekend anymore.
We fired miles to promote the dline coach, and didnt pay for a good head coach. We should have paid for herman or fisher. We settled for a hamburger instead of steak

Now, open your eyes. Orgeron - a career journeyman coach, a failed head coach and a somewhat successful short term head coach at USC and LSU – is LSU’s next football coach. “I’m the search,” LSU athletic director Joe Alleva said two months ago after firing Miles.

How is he 100% correct? This statement is not factual. Arkansas, Ole Miss, and A&M were ranked when LSU beat them.
Doubt anybody will eat their words but LSU broke numerous records on offense since O took over

Aleva had 8 weeks and this is the best he can do. Texas fired their coach and 2 hours later had Herman signed. Our AD sucks.

A columnist at a minor rag feels like Herman--that according to actual numbers was taking Houston in the wrong direction--would have been a better pick.
Give me a break.
Give me a break.
