Please think realistically, why would he turn down another job opportunity to coach in one game that’s not the national championship?

You are taking every morsel of rumor and speculation as gospel.

They are using this as leverage but if they don’t let him coach that could entitle him to his buyout? At the end of the day Kiffin is not going to be a career ole Miss guy. This will come
Up every year he is there and they know it.

I've been saying this. The potential of the SECCG complicates things

Not really but everyone has to know as soon as Texas won last night it would throw a wrench into all this IMO.
Not saying he isn't coming but the timeline might have changed.

Lane will tell Carter he's going to coach the SEC championship game if Barn wins tonight. Carter will do nothing.
Whats his buyout? $37Mil?

Ole Miss has no leverage here.

That’s why LSU fans need to just chill out. We don’t have to do anything. Ole Miss is forcing a decision

It's breaking then because that's when he's telling the AD.

This or on Gameday were the logical releases for info.

Those are the only times people that actually care would be watching.

I agree, but they do risk missing out on a coach when they basically know Lane is leaving anyway.

Without signing the extension?
He is under no contractual obligation to sign an extension.
Is Ole Miss going to fire him?
If so they will have to pay his buyout.
Kiffin does not have to do anything.

they don't need to fire him, they can just suspend him or not let him coach while still paying his contract. If and when he takes the LSU job, then he is gone.

That's absurd if true. What if he does nothing, then they'll just fire him?

Additionally, why does he still want to work for these people when they're trying to strong-arm him?
