That being said, he seems lined up for a head coaching gig in the NFL soon. Why would he take this job?

Agreed, but the NFL seems infatuated with appearances right now. They love the young, good looking offensive coaches. Daboll is a big ole boy closing in on 50. He’ll get a pro job sooner or later, but will it be a premium job?

I know he has roots in the Buffalo area. He might be happy to wait on the right NFL offer, but he could always prefer the college level. Although, he hasn’t spent much time at all coaching college in the last 20 years. It’s been mostly NFL, except for a year at Bama.

I would too but I imagine he'll still be a top NFL HC candidate and he seems like an NFL guy. No idea why he'd come back to CFB.

i dont either. but i do believe he has gotten better and better as OC every year.

no idea why he would come back to cfb though unless its just he wants the HC position and doesnt want to wait and chance it.

Media woke types were freaking out about Biennemy last year but Dabol was more highly regarded and didn't land a HC job.

His miracle work with Allen will be legendary. He did what had never been done before.

I don't know very much about the guy, but you were 13-1 and won a NC with him as the OC. Saban and Bill speak highly of him. Seriously, in what way did he suck?

The 2017 Alabama offense sucked because Jalen Hurts was garbage. Not because of Daboll.

What do you mean? Not doubting you, just don't follow the NFL that closely. All I know is Allen was a top draft pick and is doing well now.

Good point.

We never seen him work with a real Qb.

That said, dude sucks on the recruiting trail.

Allen was very inaccurate. His accuracy jump was literally historical. The jump from 2018 to 2020 is the largest 2-year increase in NFL history.

He went from like 52.8% to 69.2%

Accuracy is typically relatively stable with only minor increases. Under Daboll, Allen went from a worse Cam Newton to an MVP

And he would come with a binder.

quote:

offensive coordinator, and defensive coordinator of every Division 1-A football program. Most of those programs sent him rejection letters, which he still has saved in a binder.
