how is this?

i don't know if he has any college experience. now more than ever, college =/= NFL. 2 different games

i think he has like 1 year of experience as a DC, and i don't think he was very good

shite his claim to fame is having lavar arrington go to the pro bowl b/c he lined up at DE for 1/2 his snaps and got a lot of sacks. he hasn't exactly been overwhelming at developing LBs at Miami

it seems like miles told chavis thanks, but no thanks. was going to get walker, then he took the NMSU job
Not sure if this was true...I was told that Miles wanted Chavis on Dec 18...that's 10 days ago.

Why would a "really good DC" leave their current job?

I believe they did in Dallas, but I'm not positive.

eta: yes they did
Wiki page says Edwards was in Dallas in 1997, but Miles was in Dallas starting in 1998...did I read that wrong?

well if you're a DC looking to move up to HC, then LSU is a big-time program who can give you the publicity to be put on the map (Assuming you have really good results)

i mean look at bo p. horrible interviewee. hates recruiting. no HC experience. he got a job at a top 10 school

They also have a link to the kicking coach as his bio. Could be bad info.

I'm not really expecting someone who is established already at a top school somewhere but maybe an up and coming guy who has proven his worth as a DC at a smaller school maybe.

Look again it says he was DL coach with Dallas in 1997 and LB coach in Dallas from 1998 - 2001.

wow

in terms of money/facilities/tradition/prestige, it's hard to argue that NU is not a top 10 school

has coached at UF, coached DL at UGA when Stroud was there, was an NFL DC for a year and as someone pointed out on another board was hired or retained at some point by Butch Davis, Spurrier, Saban and Parcells.

He was also supposedly offered the UF DC gig a few years ago (not sure exactly when).

Who knows how he'll be as a DC though. I'm actually liking this hire atleast a little more than others.

Yeah, I was reading the section on the right wrong...the Team is above the position, not below...so he was with Miles at Dallas.

Edwards has a game to coach on Sunday...if he is the new DC, I wonder if he is announced by the end of the week, as people are suggesting
