So funny how ppl want Herman over jimbo. Especially with briles and sumlin building that program and its not like when Herman got it he took over a dumpster fire. He's a glorified sumlin. Jimbo way better option and its not even close. At least right now. However I do like Herman and I would be fine with it if he's hired. Considering ppl say we were close to O gettin job actually I will be Estatic with jimbo or Herman. But jimbo is a much safer hire

I agree. If Herman is the guy, I'm ok with it, but it isn't a home run. Herman has less than 2 years HC experience. He arrived with a talented group of players. Essentially only recruited one class thus far (but a good one tho). I think he has potential to be great, but he isn't great yet.

I just want LSU to have more than one option. If Jimbo decides to stay at FSU I don't want to end up with Fedora or O.

I think Jimbo is safer but Herman has a higher ceiling.

An apt synopsis. Herman might fail, but I also feel he could be the next Urban Meyer, a sort of dynastic football genius. Id be thrilled with Herman or Jimbo.

Ha ha. I guess technically the answer is yes to my knowledge. That "source" is specific to one pay site, and was never a single person but a collection of information from several people. My opinion is that some of those people were either part of Mack's staff/group or close to Mack; or after 2013, have kind of taken a back seat to any coaching changes/rumors. Just my opinion though and I don't know for sure.

It's fairly well known that Chip Brown's source in the AD (at least at one point) was Chris Plonsky (women's AD). She needed to be fired yesterday FWIW.

I suspect that he's planning to stay at Houston.

They'll pony up for him. His wife does not seem interested in moving, and Houston is not afraid to add money to keep him there.

I want Herman more because there's something enticing about that unknown quantity of his upside. If he's ready for a big boy program, he could potentially grow a huge tree in very fertile ground.

But Jimbo knows the lay of the land already. He's got a proven track record and he should be looking for something bigger and better on the next level like Herman might if he has a great 4 or 5 year run.

Jimbo, assuming he works out, might retire as our head coach.

So, I'm down with either. An exciting, if nerve racking time to be a fan.

But one thing that is known, if we don't get either, The Meltening will be visible from Voyager 2.

A lot of the same guys know each other that are high ups for both Houston and Texas. That will stop this deal you watch and see. It would happen with any in state institution. Conflicts of interest political. Would be the same if it were TX Tech, Baylor, TCU.
Then explain Briles from UH to Baylor and Sumlin from UH to the Cult.
