Yeah, it is interesting that LSU would so highly value him. I mean, the money they are allegedly offering would be the type that you would offer to a guy who has proven himself as a natty winning coach. A guy who has won 3 nattys or so and a fan base believes that he will do so for them.

In this case, LR has not and we really don't know whether he will. That is a lot of money to pay for a guy with this lingering question hanging over his resume and a fan base that expects to beat Bama and win nattys.

I, for one, was heavy on the Riley hype train. He obviously would have been a big upgrade from Orgeron, but these guys make a point…

$10-12M for a guy who is scared of competition and really has not achieved what we expect out of our own program? Maybe that juice ain’t worth the squeeze.

Once common theme with OU and LSU fans I'm seeing. They are spurned and all of a sudden he ain't shite lol.

Nobody said he isn’t “worth shite.”

But will he win championship games late in the season and command over $10M a year?

Maybe. But he has yet to create this reality.

I agree with their sentiments. Riley feels like a great OC but not fully mature as a head guy just yet.

He’s young and has time, but I don’t see a guy who yet has a grasp of all aspects of running a consistently great program.

Another:

Tucker got a big deal, because of a big publicity win where Michigan State said "man, we want to lock this guy up because we aren't sure we can do better without him."

I don't think a lot of people believe that about LR especially based on this season and the way we have played.

Joe C. may very well think he could successfully replace LR for 6 million or so, and I think he could.

Last one. But best describes the LR tenure.

We've progressively gotten worse each year he's been the HBC.

17 - CFP OT loss
18 - solid beating in CFP loss
19 - F'n embarrassment of a CFP loss
20 - didn't make CFP (thankfully)
21 - didn't make B12 CCG.

In case you didn't notice, we did not score an offensive point the entire 2nd half. Riley can GTFO. I dread to see what next year will bring.
