This always works out well

Hiring the DC for his first head coaching job didn’t exactly work out for ND after Holtz left.

ND has some history with hiring a coach without previous college head coaching experience with Faust, Davie, and Weiss. They also hired O’Leary for a week and then had to make a quick hire with Willingham, so if they hire existing DC with a quick hiring process either Freeman is very impressive or ND is doubling down on its past mistakes.

Disagree. They would have named him interim. Been at ND one year and has no experience as head coach. Cincinnati makes more sense for Freeman if Fickle makes the move.

ND made a high school coach their HC once. They aren’t scared to hire a guy who doesn’t have a huge resume.

Uh oh, you know how things turn out when the players want their guy to be the man!

I think that's the point, they want to continue the stability of the Kelly era.

Bob Davie was going to continue the stability of the Holtz era.

its out there . ideally , Day would coach one more year at OSU if Nagy is retained by Chicago, but if Nagy gets axed this yr ,Day is who they will be coming for . Id say its 50/50 right now but lot can change
