LINK It seems with Dooley losing his DC that some fans are wondering why they don't bring Chavis back. The thread just started so I expect some entertaining responses. Enjoy!

Let it begin:

Seriously though, the guy worked for Fulmer and you think he wouldn't respect Dooley

I shouldn't be surprised by the stupidity here sometimes... but I still am.

Chavis isn't going anywhere. Why should he? I mean Chavis never recruited, he didn't like it. He's in a State where they grow ALL America Defensive linemen and Linebackers like they grow Wheat in Kansas. Why would he want to come back to that "CLUSTERF**K that is going on in Knoxville now when he can just sit back and coach what "THE HAT" brings in? People are nuts if they think Chavis would want anything to do with that situation.

The only way Chavis would leave LSU to go back to UT would be as head coach - not happening.

If you are a football coach at LSU you haven't got to fly anywhere to look for talent, You can get in your car and recruit LSU..The State Of Louisiana, Southern Mississippi, Eastern Texas, Within about an 8 hour drive of the campus you can get all the talent you want. It's just as good as Florida and I think better than California.

Buddy, we've had ONE All-America linebacker in the last 26 years.

This is the second time tonight you've proven you don't know jack about LSU football. Please shut up.

Listen you Coonass dipshit, I said the STATE of Louisiana produces ALL AMERICAN Linemen and All American Linebackers for somebody to go recruit and bring in to play for old "THIRD AND LONG". The STATE of Louisiana and up to lower Mississippi and over to East Texas...That Region ( No, not place where you seem to have your head) produces great AA talent. Is that plain enough for you Alligator tail eating bayou rat?

I want to hear this. I'm from La and I'm having trouble thinking of some.

Now DBs, D-line, WRs, etc...La has always been LOADED.

The standard line from other schools is LSU is good because of recruits from Louisiana. I hope everyone keeps believing this. I lived thru the 90's and know good coaching has a tad to do with a football programs success. We are happy Chavis is at LSU and Chavis seems to love coaching the recruits who come to LSU. Without a strong recruiting and coaching staff many Louisiana kids would leave the state.

Chavis was actually a good recruiter before he became DC in 1995. No one ever remembers it because its before the internet boom in recruiting sites.

I personally think that he's gonna win the title Monday, and make another strong run with a great defense next season. That resume will be plenty for Dooley's job once he is canned next season.

I actually loved Chavis in the Rasco video series.

Chavis will never be the HC at Tennessee. Would be a disaster.

Chavis has always taken high school linebackers and turned them into DE's. Safeties into linebackers, running backers into linebackers. Even going back to Brady James who was a great high school linebacker and stayed a linebacker. you can't make be believe that some of these guys even on the current roster who might be playing ANOTHER position might have been A Prep AA or honorable mention AA at linebacker then moved to another spot. The athletes in that area are some of the best in the world.
