Really hope he’s not our Oline coach.
I doubt he's an analyst, it would be his first time being an analyst if so. I don't think he would take an analyst role this soon after Stoops being fired, he would just wait around to see if he would get an actual O Line job before taking an analyst role 5 days later.

Well shite. The experts on the board said eh hire so I’m gonna email Kiffin
They know better than Saban or Kiffin.

I kind of remember bamas oline being pretty bad over Sabans last year or so. Which is concerning because they were stacked with 5 star talent.

Glad to see him moving on from Kentucky. Stoops should've never re-hired him after the way he bounced the first time. Decent recruiter, not great from a coaching standpoint IMO.

Yep hurt the o line bringing him back and it had to succeed for our offense to perform. No running meant we were dead in the water

Our average OL weight with him was like 350. They were not good. Bryce Young was running for his life all season because they could barely move. We lost to LSU that season too if that means anything. Gave up a billion sacks to Auburn that year.

Need some Bama fans to chime in. Was Nick Sabans last OL hire
You mean the guy that tag teamed with with Kyle Flood to annihilate our OL room with bad evals and development that longer to this day?
Enjoy.
We went from Jeff Stoutland to Mario Cristobal to Brent Key to those two clowns and it probably cost us a couple championships.

Tbh Saban’s assistant coaching hires were pretty terrible the past few years of his career. Wolford, Flood, BoB, Rees, the corpse of Kevin Steele to name a few.

Yet he made the four team playoff his last year.

Saban ran his arse off after one year where his line gave up almost 50 sacks in a year and all his evals showed up looking like they were too slow to play in the B10.
Get ready for 6’4 360lb LTs who act surprised every time they see a speed rush and have to help pick up their QB off the ground.

I realize it’s pointless to give an honest assessment here of someone LSU wants but the fact remains that our OL and OL evals were really bad with Wolford. JMO, like I said, maybe he’s changed his approach in the past couple years. Hope it works out.

And you finished 5th the year before.
My guess is that Lane talks to Nick about this guy and what role he should have for LSU

Has his role at LSU been clarified? Is he going to be the OL coach or an analyst.

If Kiffin doesn’t want this body type, then he won’t have this body type. If Saban allowed it, that’s on him.

I thought Rees did a hell of a job with Milroe given what he had to work with honestly.
The rest Saban had to drag around like a Medal of Honor winner in a movie trying to make it to safety despite the odds.
I still remember them forcing Chris Owens to play RT despite being an IOL and no one giving him any TE blocking help like they were punishing the QB for past sins.

You think Kiffin micromanages his OL and defensive evals? lol
He probably has a couple guys a year he targets, but go ask the TN or OM fans how it actually works.
Kiffin is going to assemble all conference QBs out of spare parts, make skill guys into stars and pass off as much of the rest of the work to anyone else he can find.

Having a preferred body type isn’t micromanaging

Kentucky hates this guy. Also Kentucky offense was abysmal this past year. Not a Southern guy. Probably won't appeal to Southern trench boys either in recruiting. Eh hire
Yeah, I remember. I'm hoping it's as an analyst but I bet he's the hire.

Right. I think this is the o line hire.
