Ponamsky is minister of information for a reason. Coach o has played the pr game like a master.

To me, Mora is one coach that i'd choose O over. At least after O gets fired, the talent would still be at a healthy level for the next guy.
Not so sure that would be the case with Mora.

Just wait until after the A&M game to make this decision is all I ask. There's no reason to jump to a decision after Bama at this point. The recruiting class has held together and isn't going to collapse on account that they wait until the end of November on a decision, which would be the only reason to make a decision early in the first place that I can come up with.
If O somehow wins out after taking over, it's pretty goddamn hard not to retain him. He will have rallied the troops and made meaningful in season changes that turned around a sinking ship of a season. He has enthused the entire program. He is an ace recruiter. He will have proven that he can coach successfully through a gauntlet SEC schedule. I'm not sure why some people seem to want to dismiss him out of hand.
There is uncertainty with any new coaching hire. We aren't hiring a slam dunk candidate like a Saban or Spurrier coming back from the NFL. I swear I think some people are opposed to O simply because he is a LA good ole' boy (or baw) and because of that they feel like he must just be a lazy, cop out hire.
I agree drawing a conclusion after Bama is premature, win or lose, but he should be evaluated based on his performance throughout the remainder of the year. It's the most reliable test any of the candidates will go through.

i agree with you though, all options should stay on the table until the end of the year, then evaluate things with a clear head when you have all the facts.

I'm on the fence. I'd prefer to see someone else get the job, but I'm not letting the absolute unknown ruin my week. If it's O, we will just go back to the same coach bashing that we had when Miles was here. People will bitch for however many years until 10 years later, they're finally right.

before freeze, Ole Miss had been awful for 50 years. going back to the 60's with Vaught (who their stadium is named after) 7 of their 8 HC's had losing SEC records.
Cutcliffe was the only exception, and he was 25-23 overall, with 1 winning record in 6 seasons, and that was Eli's final year.
Tubberville was viewed as successful enough for Aubrun to steal, and his SEC record was 12-20.

He was objectively worse than both his predecessor and successor.

after that he went 4-8 (1-7 in the SEC) and 2-10 (0-8 in the SEC), btw. which is worse then Orgeron ever did.

No one doubts Ed O can recruit.
I was at Ole Miss during his tenure. He had total lack of institutional control and was the worst in game coach I've ever seen. Including John L Smith.
It was dumbfounding.
That program was in absolute disarray by his 3rd year. 0-8 in the SEC was first time since 1982 also.
