Looks like the hire could be on the same level as all other teams. Young and the know how to run the "sexy" offense that attracts everyone and lights up the scoreboard!

IMO, if he's hiring a guy out of a florida spread, it's for a reason, a change of philosphy.
Good point. If he is going to be the OC, it is certainly an interesting hire that no one expected, that's for sure.
Whoever is the new OC, Hopefully he can get our offense back on track. The good thing is that it can't get any worse.

You already did - when you said that if it happened, it would be a "terrible hire".

It would be a risk, but if Miles interviewed like 7 or 8 different guys, and was most impressed with him, then why not?

tidbits are news...news is information reported.

Plus it's only a rumor right now!

You misread (and I should have clarified) ... I was saying "Miles taking over the offense" is neither a good or bad thing per se. A lot of people say when head coaches "tinker" with the offense, it is somehow a bad thing. I totally disagree with that, especially if it works. I don't care if the head coach calls every single play and he and the OC hate each other if the offense consistently moves the ball.
And yes, I do think it's a terrible hire IMO if it is for OC. But I hope it works out. no one wants LSU to win more than me, so I'll hope for the best, but I'm not real sure why we would hire someone that has never officially called a single play before in his coaching career.

Is there any chance that something with Tolbert fell through at the last minute, kind of like with O last year?
Posted on 12/10/09 at 8:07 pm to Keys Open Doors
could tolbert be the OC and this guy be the WR coach?

You know what you saw in his bio, but already know that it would be a terrible hire? Will you go on record as saying you'd rather keep Crowton than hire this guy? Based on your logic, since Crowton has officially called plays before, he's naturally better. Forget about player development, game planning, or recruting...

egg, you will get banned again if you keep whining about Scike Marborough.
also, Miles is doing this so he can finally move Kellen Theriot back to QB. CHAMPIONSHIP

fla guys are saying it will be a mutual parting of ways b/t uf and gonzalez.
maybe he was just unhappy. from what i understand, addazio, the OL coach was elevated to OC after mullen left, so BG might still be sore for that

seems risky...what's the word on this dude? Need to page bp...
You nailed it! It is highly risky if this is our new OC. The guy may be a fantastic recruiter, but he has zero experience as an OC or QB coach and was not a QB in college.
I'd rather Crowton. If not Crowton, this is LSU, and for what we can pay (are currently paying Crowton) we can at the very least get someone with a proven track record as an OC.
I'm afraid if this guy becomes the OC.
